Cisco Voice Questions and Answers

Resolved Question: Where can I go to voice my opinion or give suggestions to the people who created MW2?

They are so messed up. They purposely misled everyone by saying it will have dedicated servers but they weren't talking about servers for games, they were talking about their matchmaking server that shoves you into games with horrible lag because they put you with terrorists(who are hopefully thousands of miles away and hard to connect to). How hard can it be to find a local game when there are over 200,000 people online. All they want is the money, that's why they love bill gates. Even though they are raking in so much money, they still use DemonWare, a no-name business that doesn't even have links on their website, to do the net coding. They could probably afford Cisco 1,000x over. They're friggin retarded.  more

Resolved Question: You think Israel is a thrid world country?

I saw on a previous question, someone implied that Israel was a 3rd world country. Obviously he doesn't know anything about Israel. Israel's contributions and accomplishments: Agriculture * The average palm tree, which has been growing in the Middle East for centuries, is about 18-20 feet tall and yields about 38 pounds of dates a year. Israeli date trees are now yielding 400 pounds/year and are short enough to be harvested from the ground or a short ladder. * Israel is the only country in the world that entered the 21st century with a net gain in its number of trees. This gain was achieved in an area considered mainly desert. Hi-Tech * The cell phone was developed by Israelis working in the Israeli branch of Motorola. * Most of the Windows NT and XP operating systems were developed by Microsoft-Israel. * The Pentium MMX Chip technology was designed in Israel at Intel. Both the Pentium-4 microprocessor and the Centrino processor were entirely designed, developed and produced in Israel. * Voice mail technology was developed in Israel. * Both Microsoft and Cisco built their only R&D facilities outside the US in Israel. * The technology for the AOL Instant Messenger ICQ was developed by four young Israelis. * With more than 3,000 high-tech companies, Israel has the highest concentration of hi-tech companies in the world (apart from Silicon Valley). Medicine * Israeli scientists developed the first fully computerized, no-radiation, diagnostic instrumentation for breast cancer. * An Israeli company developed a computerized system for ensuring proper administration of medications, thus removing human error from medical treatment. 7,000 patients a year die from treatment mistakes in U.S. hospitals. * Israelis developed the first ingestible video camera (so small it fits inside a pill) used to view the small intestine from the inside. * Israeli researchers developed a device that helps the heart pump blood and has the potential to save the lives of those with heart failure. * Clear Light, a new acne treatment developed in Israel, produces a light that kills acne bacteria without damaging surrounding skin or tissue. Military * Israel has the fourth largest air force in the world (after the U.S, Russia and China). Economy * Israel's $100 billion economy is larger than all of its immediate neighbors combined. * Israel is ranked #2 in the world for venture capital funds (behind the U. S.) Outside the U.S. and Canada, Israel has the largest number of NASDAQ listed companies. * Israel has the highest average living standards in the Middle East. * The per capita income in 2000 was over $17,500, exceeding that of the UK. Education and Research * Israel has the highest percentage in the world of home computers per capita. * Israel has the highest ratio of university degrees to the population in the world. * Twenty-four per cent of Israel's workforce holds university degrees, ranking third in the industrialized world, after the United States and Holland and 12 per cent hold advanced degrees. * On a per capita basis, Israel has the largest number of biotech startups. * Israel produces more scientific papers per capita than any other nation by a large margin - 109 per 10,000 people --as well as one of the highest per capita rates of patents filed. Innovation * In proportion to its population, Israel has the largest number of start-up companies in the world. In absolute terms, Israel has the largest number of start-up companies than any other country in the world, except the U.S. * An Israeli company was the first to develop and install a large-scale, solar-powered electricity generating plant. * Israel designed the airline industry's most impenetrable flight security. * Israel has the third highest rate of entrepreneurship -- and the highest rate among women and among people over 55 - in the world. * Israel leads the world in the number of scientists and technicians in the workforce, with 145 per 10,000, as opposed to 85 in the U. S., over 70 in Japan. With over 25% of its work force employed in technical professions. Israel places first in this category as well. Thriving Democracy * Israel is the only liberal democracy in the Middle East. * In 1984 and 1991, Israel airlifted a total of 22,000 Ethiopian Jews (Operation Solomon) at Risk in Ethiopia, to safety in Israel. * When Golda Meir was elected Prime Minister of Israel in 1969, she became the world's second elected female leader in modern times. * Relative to its population, Israel is the largest immigrant-absorbing nation on earth. Immigrants come in search of democracy, religious freedom, and economic opportunity. * Israel has the world's second highest per capita of new books. * Israel has more museums per capita than any other country. Israel achieved all of the above accomplishments despite being continually at war with neighboring countries What are you talking about "live like Americans" Israel is more industrialized than most of Europe and they like to spend their money just like Americans. The economy really took off when they opened up the markets. If there's a country outside the US that really values the American style of living its Israel. I can't back that up with a source, that's just my opinion from living there 16 years. I would agree that Gaza has the standard of living of a 3rd world country, The west bank would qualify as 2nd world probably. Except for the Israeli settlements which seem to thrive. But I did not slip on my words, I meant Israel when I said Israel. I wish I could find a country called Palastine next to Israel on the map but there has been nothing but poor leadership for the poor Palastinian people. They preach hate and use all of their foreign aid on weapons instead of trying to create jobs. You see the Palastinians just have to recognize a right of the State of Israel to exist and they can get a really good deal, but they don't. They (poor leaders that is) want it all, they want to remove all the Israelis. They don't realize that even if it is their land (and I believe it is not) they have to compromise. Why don't the people stand up to their leaders that lead them to suffering? by the way, Warsaw Ghetto? they call checkpoints comperable to WWII ghettos. What a shame. I never heard of gas chambers or labor camps in Gaza or the West Bank. The west bank isn't bad at all, and Gaza is just a big slum. Hardly WWII ghetto. Don't kid yourself. Heso, I have to disagree. The fact that they have such an aggressive military shows that they have learned from the past. They say "Never again" and they mean it. They have to be strong. Otherwise a country like Iran will try to wipe them off the map. Their neighbors are constantly attacking them. I think you read too many illegitimate websites and their false claims about the situation in Gaza. I challenge you to talk to people who have been there if you can't make a trip yourself. There's a lot of sights to see, you would probably enjoy it. For the record, I didn't type it all, i copied and pasted. I know what you meant, and to make that analogy is disgracefully dishonest. They are not committing genocide, if they wanted to that they would have killed them all by now. There are no labor camps, there are no gas chambers, they actually provide millions of dollars worth of aid into Gaza, which isn't even part of Israel anymore. Like I said above, Instead of using all of their aid to provide people with jobs, the Palastinians buy weapons to terrorize and train young children to terrorize. If only the Nazis did that to the Jews. There would be small thriving Jewish communities all over Europe.  more

Resolved Question: Tell me what you think?

Hey guys thanks for checking out my Question.I wrote this story a while ago and showed it to all my family and friends and they've all told me its flawless which i know cant be the truth because this the first story i wrote i'm counting on you guys to give me constructive criticism ignore grammar because i haven't edited yet.P.S tell me if you like the direction its headed. Chapter 1 Department Dilemma and A Girl Named Emma “Security in aisle three, security in aisle three ”the intercom blared. Funny I was the only person in that aisle, three huge shadows came in from the corner of the fantasy perfume display (by the way in love I mean someone should totally give the person who made it an award or something like the noble prize for chemistry because perfume has to do with chemistry and . . . oh yea). The three huge shadows were none other then three huge security guards heading my way. Thank god that they finally came to there senses , poor things were probably sent from staff to get some style advice. They were all wearing uniform but dang did they have hair problems. The one on the left was on the shorter side but was the most muscular. His hair well it was a shocking bleach blond bright enough to blind .Definitely clashed with his dark chocolate skin left him lookin like a cisco impersonator .The one the middle was tall and lanky his hair was just as depressing as his expression. Brown and thready ending in the nip of the neck not quite shoulder length and not yet a mushroom cut either, jumbled together trying there best to stay in a ponytail and to say the least his Chanel half tint sunglasses weren’t helping ; minus the half tint the sunglasses and the Chanel part equals Torturous Circular Optical Vison buy one get one free atrocities( seriously there that bad) His pale skin gave him away from spending way to much time in his moms basement playing frogger helmet chaos or whatever they play these days. The last ....victim was a well built I wanna say Italian but not too sure, good bone features piecing green eyes, now that im looking at him he looks like he could be a male model but ,what the hell was with his decorative facial hair could you say eww .He had a beard if that wasn’t gross enough, it was shaped so it went into a perfect triangular prism (oh yea I aced grade 2 science .....or was it math) here they come. “Miss were gonna have to ask you to come with us”Cisco said in a surprisingly high voice might I add. How cute they were embarrassed . “That won’t be necessary, I already accept”I informed. They looked at me like I was Victoria Beckham sporting last years Prada bag ,dumb founded. “You know on your make over the one you were gonna ask me to do just now”I affirmed . Man were these guys slow. Still looking as dumb as ever ;Optical lense looked like he was gonna speak up but then to my inconvenience stopped leaving us in an awkward silence. “Miss Have you been drinking at all today ”Facial Hair asked “No its only noon” what was this guy on. “Are you sure because you seem a little tipsy” “Well im not” ok now I was getting mad I’m only six-teen did I look like Tara Reid to him. “We just need you to come with us okay ”Optical commented. “I’m not going anywhere with you creeps ,forget about the make over a I have to pick up my cat from the groomers ”I howled. “You don’t have a choice you stole something and know you have to pay the consequences”Cisco replied. “Excuse me ,if you think id steal anything from this piece of junk you are definitely an experiment of artificial stupidity do you now who my father is Sebastian Bloom CEO of one of the biggest corporations in the world I can afford to buy this whole department store not that I d want to” I raised my nose to the ceiling turned on my heel and let those losers bite the dust of course they didn’t have word to say to me and then I walked out the door like the fashionista I am and breathed in the high-maintenance Manhattan I loved . 15 Minutes Later “Hey Sage how was my baby behaving herself”I asked my tie dye studded groomer .I mean honestly if it wasn’t for hippies taking care of animals much more than the average person and the fact that sage was my mom’s best friend from college I would definitely leave on the account of Mercedes being exposed to so much fashion don’t’s. I’ve officially seen to much tie dye in my life.“Oh just darling, she is into getting pampered isn’t she” “Of course”I fake giggled . “So where is my diva”“in the back I think Starr is outfitting her in some radical pet gear, oh put don’t tell her I told you she’d be waay bummed it’s a surprise ”Star  more

Resolved Question: Please read this. Is this a nice story. What would you rate this?

Im in 8th grade, and i have to hand in a paper in english about realistic fiction. What do you think of it? Is there anything i can do to make it better? What would you give it on a scale of 1 to 100. Thanks. Lauren Lucas, age 15, was your typical teenage girl. She was an average student, and just like everyone else, she had her problems; whether it was about family, friends, school or boys. One day she got back from school and sighed on her email. She deleted all her junk mail, and then she noticed a message from an email in which she did not recognize. Lauren read, “ Hey Lauren! Its Josh, you may not remember me. I used to have biology class with you last semester but I got transferred out. I really like you, and I want to get to know you more. Let me know what you think… Sincerely, Josh Mattson ” “Oh my god! JOSH,” Lauren exclaimed! Of course she knew who it was. She had a crush on him ever since the 4th grade, star of the football team and honor student, every girl’s dream date! However, she had forgot all about him ever since he had moved out from her bio class, and besides she had more than enough on her mind about already about the divorce her parents were going through. She picked up the phone and dialed Kim’s number. She told her about the email and both girls shouted in unison, “Gash, I can’t believe it.” Lauren replied instantly asking him for his number. They talked on the phone all day and all night for months. He seemed to reveal her stress. He had this way of making her feel like she was the most important thing in the world, and most importantly he made her feel like for once in her life somebody actually cared. Months passed and they both decided to meet up and go see a movie. “Wow! Josh, I don’t know how to thank you. I don’t know where I would be right now if it wasn’t for you. Thanks for being here for me through this difficult time, your amazing,” she said. Josh replied, “Oh you don’t have to thank me. As I said before your beautiful, and I’m glad we got to know each other, maybe…well...I was thinking maybe we could…you know…make it official?” Lauren cried out, “Oh I would love that”! Lauran and Josh dated for 2 years; it was the most amazing 2 years of her life! Even though there was much stuff going on at home, Lauren knew she could always turn to Josh for support and encouragement. One day, they decided to take it to the next level. Lauren had a doubt in the back of her head…it was her mother’s voice trailing off as she warned her about this hundreds and thousands of times. But that didn’t matter now, she had found the love of her life and she wasn’t going to ruin it. “Josh, I’m pregnant,” Lauren cried out! She didn’t know whether she should cry because of what her mother would do to her or to be happy because now it was more than just her and Josh, it was the beginning of her family. Josh urged to keep the baby, however, her mother thought different. When Lauren told her mother that she was pregnant a big fight broke out. She got kicked out of the house and moved in with Josh. At that time she didn’t care, this is what she had wanted. On March 18, 2008, she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Joel. Things got hard as the bills build up. Josh worked, but it wasn’t enough. She had dropped out of school and couldn’t find a job. They started fighting, at first about the rent, and then the food, the clothes and it finally got to the point where they fought about everything. Josh left her, she had nowhere to go. It was just her and Joel against the world. Lauren got depressed. She stayed with Kim for a couple of months and promised to pay her half of the rent when she got a job. Kim became aggravated because she wasn’t used to living with others. She felt bad because it was her best friend but she had to let go. Sitting on the subway steps, she picks up a newspaper from the floor and reads, “Institution for those who need help. Where are here” She had heard that many times, but she had no choice but to believe it once more. Joel was now 2 years old, she picked him up from Kim’s apartment and left, in search of the institution. When she arrived she was welcomed by other just like her. There were many different stories, some not so bad and others horrible. She was inspired by the women in the institution. They offered a daycare program for children, so she decided to take the first step to success, and that was to leave Joel in daycare while she went to school, to earn her collage degrees. Even Lauren herself never thought she would be able to pull it off. She went to college for 4 years and earned her master’s degree. She got a job at Cisco, where she earned a minimum of $50,000. She left the institution and moved to her newly bought house. It was a dream come true! At work, she met a very fine young man. This was a true man; s  more

Resolved Question: What exactly is a CTI Port in Cisco Call Manager 6.0?

I am a datat guy getiing into VOIP. So please don't be Voice brutal. I am trying to understand why and what you could use a CTI port for. Also, can you use the intercom feature for paging? And if so, does it have to barge?  more

Resolved Question: Cisco Unified Communications (CallManager) question...?

I've recently been tasked to find out if our CallManager system could support sending paging messages to a building or certain zones (instead of installing an analog pager system). I found out that Cisco Unified CallManager Express has a paging function but the full CallManager does not. I'm currently running version 6. Does anybody know if this functionality will be included in patches/upgrades? I know there are some third party vendors out there that have some products...it seems kind of silly though that I'd need to go out and buy a whole new box and learn how to integrate it with the CallManager when it seems that just having a unicast voice stream capability would be fairly easy for Cisco to have included. Does anybody, any Cisco employees here? know why it was not included? Does anybody here have any reviews of the following two systems? http://www.berbee.com/public/berbeesoftware/InformaCast.aspx http://www.ipcelerate.com/assets/docs/IPcelerate_ER.pdf  more

Resolved Question: Cisco IP telephone technology?

http://www.starshipcorp.com/shop_dealer/images/Cisco%20IP%20Phone%20CP-7941G.jpeg My school has Cisco IP telephones in all offices. Like the one shown above. Whats the specialty of IP telephones as compared to the usual telephone at home? Does the IP telephone operate on the local intranet/ethernet? And the voice is sent as packets? Hence how can u guarantee about quality as packets might get lost/damaged due to network congestion? Also, if a certain institution has an IP phone system that means their internal calls are free of charge right? (As they already have an ethernet network)  more

Voting Question: What salary could I make with my certs?

I have worked in the help desk the last 5 years. I currently worked up to junior systems engineer. I hold the following certifications... CCNP (Cisco Network Pro) CCSP (Cisco Security Pro) CCVP (Cisco Voice Pro) VCP (Vmware Certified Professional) MCITP Vista 70-620/70-622 LPI level 2 (Linux pro instutude level 2) In the middle of studying for MCITP for Server 2008 and should be done in 6 months or so. Resolved Question: Hi everyone : ) I'm not sure what to study next?!?!?

I have started working in desktop support which I must admit I don't really enjoy. I have passed the Cisco CCNA and in my current role I get to support users with Avaya which is something I find interesting and do enjoy. Thing is I have no real experience other than in my current role as I used to work in Sales. I want to get the CCVP next but worry that I may make myself unhireable as only knowing that field... should I do a server MCTS first or just concentrate on the CCVP and Avaya???? The experience with Avaya I'm getting is pretty minimal, I basically pass on tickets to the network team but I do get involved with bridge calls when there is an outage and the Voice network team have offered to help with equipment, sitting in on training etc as the company I work for uses Cisco and Avaya. But of course I worry if I go for an external job they may not hire me based on that and the CCVP. Basically What I'm saying is I'm worried about putting all my eggs in one basket, it's a lot of studying to get to a point where I can't get a job in the Voice field. Any advice would be greatly received : )  more

Resolved Question: For ALL Network - Percentages & People's reaction to them. Or am I too good that I render myself impotent?

[Warning: You will not like me - I am not a person to be liked, but more loved. Loved to be hated or loved to be loved. Either way, I inspire love in others, there is little ambivalance in my life. No matter how hard I try to fit in with the majority. I seek an extraordinarliy ordinary life. I am doomed to get what I want. And what I need to do so... I am a self made man. I rely on no-one but myself. The others that I do rely one are but re-iterations of my own needs and wants - I am both the copied and the copier. I am the mimicked and the mimc; The king for each day and fool for each lifetime of days... This is some REAL self-obsessed tosh - if you believe that it is, you probably won't want to answer. In fact, I implore you not to answer, because you'd just be wasting your time reading this and answering it if you believe it is - I'm doing you a favour, stop reading NOW! BUT: That doesn't mean you can prove me right by answering by being a Total Waste A Time: Acronym - T.W.A.T] I am and have a massive bell-end and, because I do, it hurts everything I stick it into (only human, physically... Lol! - see I laugh at my own jokes... THAT's how much of a joke I am). Maybe I should stick to self-pleasuring..? Oh... I do and that's why I'm so good at it. I don't think people like it when you enjoy using Yahoo Answers, pleasing yourself, more than they think you should do. (I hate the word should - it's so... [Godwin's Law]) Is this the Yahoo Answer's version of penis envy? Or do I just have a massively over-inflated ego to match my 60percent and tiny pecker? Accepting a poor diagnosis from a quack, when you have asked for an expert's or professional's opinion, specifically, seems a little confused. So I'm doing that because I'm Daffy Duck. I received a lot of training after music college, after doing my Cisco/MCSE, which led to me receiving a lot more training than just how to shoot and military tactics and scouting... I learned a lot more than the military could teach through being in a band, before doing any of this, and my previous experience and further studies and learnings. Everything in my life is what helped me become who I am today and provided a solid base for me to launch my career as a psychoanalysist/life-coach, writer and Martial Art teacher. I'm seriously considering becoming an hermit... I fear that maybe it is too late for me. I can't help lead people out of their confusion, sometimes - it is up to people when they learn... (please no jokes about confusious and his bangkock escapade, that's pretty old and is over used, like my Yahoo Answer's account - even though I've only had it two weeks...) Now it is my turn to be confused, my chance to learn and yours to lead me from the confusion and into the clear waters of serentiy or whatever it's called... Bluewater's a massive shopping centre. They must first ask a question before I can answer it. At least approach seeking knowledge that they do not know how to ask for... The only person I feel sorry for in the instances, to which I am referring, are the people who search for answers - people like myself... I try not to ask questions unless I already know the answer, because I have found it already. But sometimes I need to learn that what I have found is right - so I ask. Like now. They see the best answer as one that is chosen (and I don't like voting for myself, that's why I have friends, whom I have helped, who seek my answers and vote them as the most relevent because they believe they are), often mostly incorrect - there are no wrong answers nor questions, except in definites (but that's another case entirely) and do not see the information that the most relevent answer has provided, for which that person is usually thanked for by email after the question has been resolved... I find this behaviour quite bizarre. I don't care for the whole points system, seeing it's flaws (especially now), but I do mind, however, about spreading the right information - the living, loving truth, and people's stupidity when faced with something that isn't stupid... I'm having difficulty understanding it all, so I'd really appreciate it if someone could shed some light or provide some kind of corroboration on my social/psycholgical theories about this issue. It seems like a pointless question to me, but it may not to others - therefore I am asking it for other people, so I can learn from their answers instead of seeking them out for myself, for a change. Please get your thinking caps on and consider this question as you would any other about how to best wear a suit or clean a teapot, fix a radiator, let people know how you think they should look after themselves or loved ones or plants, etc... or how you think you believe other people should run their lives. (I hate the word should... It's so commanding... Commands are best as suggestions, presented as a choice where there is only one real solution). [This is not the FINAL SOLUTION - that's Godwin's Law in action] The reason most people have cited, when they thank me for the information, and feel the need to explain why they didn't select the truth over compassion - their personal bias toward the underdog - is that it is because my percentage is so high... They like to give someone else a chance and so choose their answer, regardless of how incorrect or misleading it is, purely because they do not want to be seen to have a favourite who is usually (65pc) right. Their judgement is not sound, on the surface, nor is it even close to what you have chosen to do. In other words - why are people lying to everyone and telling only me the truth? Is it because everyone lies? Or is it because I only speak, see and hear the truth? They have allowed their bias (and compassion) to blind them to the truth. They will often tell me that they are following my advice and accepting my answer as the one that they deem to be the most relevant, but they are not letting other people know this. Something I disagree with, as it's unethical and it promotes a faulted society based on bias and not harmonious, truthful values. I wish society was more like that - it would solve so many problems. It'd really make the world we live in a great place. I have recently learned, through my own mistakes, that EVERYTHING on the internet is immortalised. Especially the bad things. I wish I could take back the bad thing I said, but I cannot - I have attoned for it and it has been said to me that there was no offense taken and that they believed that what I said was correct and were suprised that they were chosen to be the majority's voice. The voice of Truth and Reason as is believed. One person cannot be the majority... It takes the *actual* majority for that! I am also biased, because I know my judgement to be sound and has been proven so under extreme conditions. You chose the best answer - go consult with a doctor, do this do that, see this type of person, find this out, learn this, whatever. What you do not notice is that I am these people. Please, please, please - let me know that you have chosen what I say. I DO NOT WANT best answer. My percentage of best, though based upon the fact that I 65pc DO give the best answer, is too high and is making people NOT choose it as best. Because of this, I DO NOT WANT YOU to choose ME. Even less do I want you to be me, for I would wish this curse upon no other person alive or dead. No matter whether they are loved nor loved to be hated or hated to be loved... It is a terrible, but wonderful thing and I loathe it with all my being. All they are allowing to happen by choosing this is letting other people know that the answer they have chosen (to the questions the other person are asking) is wrong, but right. In their biased judgment and not because of their rationality and belief in the truth... Something which everyone knows, but not everyone accepts. There is a lot of denial in the world and I don't mean a Pharoh's last boat ride. Why do, wherever I go, truth and belief, (leading to other people's politics) always come into play when they are absolute and not games? It happens everywhere I've been and, most likely, will follow me, as my friends have, throughout my life. It still makes me wrong wherever I go. I am hunted by the very thing I hunt. I am haunted by those that I haunt. I am followed by those that I follow, as the truth treads in the footsteps that I have yet to leave and have left. People are obviously compassionate enough to give someone a chance to improve their rating from 6pc to 60pc - but the rating is there for a reason. It shows the fact that the person knows what they are talking about. Please enable your email so you can email me with questions if you seek my answers, as others of my contacts here do, so that people are not biased by the fact that I have such an high percentage score and choose the lesser answer - meaning that IF someone searches and finds this question they get the wrong advice. Please. It is important to me that I continue my relationships with you all, but I feel that it is becoming too hard to do so because of other's ideas of success on this forum (my idea of success is 100pc, but I will never reach that... Such is life, such is my standard). Use your head - I can't help stupid people. Activate your email, so that I may email you my answers instead of answering them and you feeling that you must give someone else the points, meaning everyone gets the wrong answer, instead of doing what is right and forgetting your bias so that the right answer is given and accepted, but another still receives the kudos and credit - I have surpassed the need for such things. They mean less to me than the size of my own pecker. It's a real shame that it means so much to other men and women alike. It just *is*. I would rather it be that I give no overt answer that is ignored and debased and do not exist except in the questioner's mind. I perceive this as a personal insult and when I feel insulted I become a not very nice person, which is very, very out of character to me when it comes to helping others. I believe it is better this way and that I can help more people. I may be wrong, which is why I seek your advice. Since this should be a question I will ask this: Do you think I am right? Are people biased by an high percentage and will chose another answer, partly because they do not want to add to that 65pc and make it higher, but still gain the insight that someone with such knowledge possesses, not wanting to share it with others because of a personal greed for political correctness and the desire to gain knowledge (ie power) over their fellow persons? Landslides create more problems than they fix, mostly (as they only come out at night... mostly...). If they do, do you not think that it would be a good idea to let other people know that, by adding a comment at the end of an answer response, to explain this reason? That is... Instead of just re-iterating what I said in one sentence and saying - you're wrong, but I chose you anyway cos the other guy's got a bigger 8==D / mind / level of experience than mine, else I wouldn't've asked or answered this question or comment in the first place? But I don't want to admit that fact because the difference is too great and by doing so, I am admitting my own failings, even though I've done that already by asking - not that it is a failing to seek knowledge. So I believe... I see it as an admirable quality! Questions are the key to learning and progression! They are the only way to become something more... That is why I am asking this one. Or do you think I should just lower my percentage to be 1pc, by answering stupidly lots of stupid questions (which I really don't want to do - it's not in my character) so that I can actually answer the questions and get the Truth out there without the asker being biased by such a percentage of correct answers as 65pc when it is needed? Or should I just create a whole new account? Or just stop Yahoo Answers entirely? All I want to do is help people. I do not want to have to create an alternate persona here, where I came to be myself of my own free will, so that I can achieve that which I feel I must. At least, I was led to believe that I could be who I am - I think *I* am the stupid one for believing that things could be any different. I am an ex-punk, ex-junkie, which made me "join the bloody army" where I excelled and became a member of a 6 man squad, operating in 2's, on discharge, I used my medical knowledge and psychological service to become who I am now. A psychoanalysist and life coach and a Martial Art teacher who is a published article and sci-fi writer. I lead an happy life with a woman I love in a nice house in a lovely part of London. We are successful and our prospects are good. I have met some good people on here, and I am still in touch with them. I hope to remain so with those that hope to remain so with me. However, some of them now believe that because I have given them such good advice and answers, that they must now repay me by ignoring it. For the reasons I have given you. If they have ever followed the ethos which attracted them to me in the first place, they would stand for the greater good of all - they would think about what I say and act accordingly to further the whole and to exceed their own standards and those set by the society in which they live. Or - am I just a complete and utter T.W.A.T? It's an easy answer, really - all answers are relevent - if you've got this far, you've done exceedingly well. Thank-you for your time and patience. I believe that this will be the last thing I write here. I think my time here is at an end. This is no place for one such as myself. I possibly, if I had really thought about it, come to this conclusion before I even started. But what can we do but learn from our mistakes? Please, stay in touch, my friends. I will with you. Thanks for messing with my account. Changing the password was really nice of you. I have got it reset - all you've done is annoy me. Deleting my emails was nothing - you left evidence. My ISP are investigating and have a log of the IP - you'll be hearing from my lawyer. Welcome to the harassment club - you've just earned yourself a lawsuit. FlowerGirl - How am I supposed to contact you if you do not allow contact? I'm at a loss here - I usually just hunt down people's answers but I would prefer to just email them as our paths cross and keep it that way than having a million and one transient cases to deal with. I would love more than anything to help you and I believe that you have come across the two best people, right here, to do that. You can email me through my profile. I look forward to hearing from you.  more

Resolved Question: Voice (PSTN) to VoIP conversation for Cisco.?

Can I plug a FXO module directly from the wall PSTN in a 2600XM with CCME and use a Cisco phone and dial-out and receive calls or is a gateway required like Cisco ATA 186? I'm not looking into PBX, I'm not looking into PBX in a flash, etc - I just want a straight through connection - no voicemail - and ideally use one router for it all. If I can't plug it into one router, can I use a gateway easily to CCME for the 2600? Thanks. Please excuse, I am new to this.  more

Resolved Question: Cisco VG200 w/ 2VIC 2FX with a Voice Gateway 200 and no PBX just Call Manager Express on 2621XM.?

I know this sounds kind of boring and all not having a PBX (down the road) but this is for simple home use. I have a Cisco 2621XM w/ Call Manager Express, a Voice Gateway 200 w a 2 VIC 2FX card, and a 7906G VOIP IP Phone. All I (boringly) want to do is plug in a phone line into the VG200, run it through the 2621 w/ Call Manager Express, and ring ring. Sounds simple, over complicated for a basic phone line but there is a bit more to it down the road. Is this relatively easy to do? Also, how is licensing handled? Always the fun buster... Thanks!  more

Resolved Question: I have a Cisco 2621XM and want to set up external connection, do I need a VPN module for voice connection?

I have a 2621XM multi-function router. It does support voice. How would I go about making a point to point connection to another same modem router at a remote site to use the same trunk or phone line using a voice gateway. The new IOS has Cisco Call Manager Express. Would I need to get a VPN module on both ends to support the link or is the answer a lot less complex and involved. Any help would be useful. Resolved Question: Should I be able to use a Cisco VG200 w/ 2vic for a regular phone line to IP phone?

Though i don't have a real life PBX as it's unrealistic for home use, nor multiple phone lines, will the voice gateway allow me to use an IP phone/ create other extension to other phones (in theory).. dial 9 our.. get the drift. I can't afford the Cisco CallManager hardware in my dreams but I know there are IOS Command line that can do similar. I'm hoping the VG200 will allow all this without the need for Asterik or even work in conjunction. Though I'd like to go the CCVP way of business... All I want is to hook up a phone line in the VIC on the Voice Gateway then do the proper configs in between (if possible as my question poses) to get a dial-tone on a Cisco IP phone then be using VOIP. Thanks for your help! =) Oh yea, bonus question, are there a Windows version of CallManager or is that pretty much just hardware?  more

Resolved Question: Cisco Inexpensive VOIP solution for newbs?

I'm getting a Cisco 1701 which I know supports VOIP and considering a 2621XM to learn. I know both can do PBX (am I right?). I'd like to use a VOIP phone (or two) and use a land line. Also, I plan to set up a point to point connection to peer wanting to do similar. If I wanted to set up voice over land line what do I need to do, and cheaper method is best. I've heard of DID and FXS. DID is more expensive, the cards I've found. What interface cards would I need to accomplish inbound and outbound calling for as cheap (within a 100 range) as possible but functional. Also, say I didn't use a land line though defeat a big purpose, can I still set up two Cisco IP phones linked? Do I need Call Manager Express, is there a cheaper solution like computer based software? I'm confused on logistics and how I could go about this. If anyone could provide info, it would be great!  more

Resolved Question: Like the Cisco 2621XM router, can the Cisco 2620XM router do VOIP PBX as well?

I'm new to voice and I'm studying for CCNA then on to CCNP and getting accustomed as well wanting to explore CCNP and VOIP in general. I want to set up a direct link with a friend to his house and have a phone at each end. Also, possibly get two for here to test. I'm sure I can do the research on how to set the individual router up but is it difficult? Also, do you need computer software as an intermediary (or is this just for directory/voicemail?). I can get the 2620XM for about a hundred dollars cheaper than the 2621XM ($200 instead of $300) and if I can get two for each link and one for local use it would be perfect. I'm a student so I'm not exactly in the money. If you have an alternative suggestion as well please feel free. Thanks!  more

Resolved Question: Can the Cisco 2621 regular router support Voice PBX rather than the Cisco 2621XM?

I'm working on my CCNA with learning some more advanced routing techniques. I'm also wanting to look into CCVP when that's done. If I bought a 2621 (I already have a regular 2621 and 2501 and 2504) will I be able to support voice functionality? I'm just needing something with two phones and learn off of. Can someone give suggestions? Thanks!  more

Resolved Question: If you hate Israelis so much, why do you use their products everyday???

Israel, the 100th smallest country in the world, with less than 1/1000th of the world's population, can lay claim to the following: The cell phone was developed in Israel by Israelis working in the Israeli branch of Motorola, which has its largest development center in Israel Most of the Windows NT and XP operating systems were developed by Microsoft-Israel. The Pentium MMX Chip technology was designed in Israel at Intel. Both the Pentium-4 microprocessor and the Centrino processor were entirely designed, developed and produced in Israel. The Pentium microprocessor in your computer was most likely made in Israel. Voice mail technology was developed in Israel. Both Microsoft and Cisco built their only R&D facilities outside the US in Israel. The technology for the AOL Instant Messenger ICQ was developed in 1996 by four young Israelis. Israel has the fourth largest Air Force in the world (after the U.S., Russia and China). In addition to a large variety of other aircraft, Israel's air force has an aerial arsenal of over 250 F-16's. This is the largest fleet of F-16 aircraft outside of the U. S. Israel's $100 billion economy is larger than all of its immediate neighbors combined. Israel has the highest percentage in the world of home computers per capita According to industry officials, Israel designed the airline industry's most impenetrable flight security. Resolved Question: What do I need to set up an Asterisk service?

I've got a rather in-depth request for anyone who has jumped through all the hoops. What do we need to make and receive calls to/from VoIP & PSTN phones worldwide, and what would the cost be? We intend to use our existing Cisco 7940 / 7960 IP phones. What specs should the server have for good call quality? we will have 5 offices with 8 users (perhaps 4 concurrent), and 1 with 20 users (perhaps 10 concurrent). With the server located in one site and all our IP phones/stations located throughout the United States, what kind of internet will be needed at both the server and IP phone ends? (asymmetric/symemetric? need packet prioritization via the switch to ensure voice call quality? will cable internet be ok?) Do we need to pay a service to convert our IP calls to/from the regular PSTN network? what about long-distance PSTN? What support, installation, troubleshooting, fixing solutions does Digium offer and how much does it run? We need to ensure that we won't lose service.  more

Resolved Question: Am doing CCNA right now. am a bit lost though. what to do next?

CCNP would be obvious, but the other day we had a presentation from someone about CCSP, saying network security is 'in'. which combination of courses(1 each from Cisco's three levels, Associate, Professional,Expert) would be best if i had to go towards network security?... and secondly, which courses attract employers?.. i know for certain that there are a lot of CCNA's out there... so being one doesnt really make you unique.if someone could explain which area(design, security, voice, routing n switching etc) is most rewarding in terms of employment, pay packages and other related things. also, do all these certifications actually help?!. i mean if i had no degree but a bunch or certs, would i find a job?.. ofcourse a degree would help :). hmm.. thats a lot of info i've asked, heh, bits n pieces of help welcome, but the whole lot would be swell.  more

Resolved Question: Cisco IP 7970 phone system - How to reset the default voicemail option?

I have been provided with a new phone by my company which features different setting options including voicemail setting. As default setting, you have the system voice recorded which plays (when non-answering the phone) and to which you can add your name (with your own voice) at the end of the default system voice message. The problem is that when I recorded my name, I hanged up because I couldn't do it properly (I was laughing....) and wanted to try later. But unfortunatly, the default voice system has disapeared. How can I reset the default voice system please?  more
