Open Question: military personnel trying to do fiance visa?
i am currently in the U.S. Navy and i am trying to marry my fiancee who is in the Philippines. i was planning on doing the fiancee visa but i found out that i might get stationed overseas in July. if anyone knows if this will be a complication, or other routes to take, please let me know. she also has a 2 year old daughter so if that will be another factor, please reply with what you know. i heard that command sponsorship is something i can do as well but i dont know how long that will take and what not. any information is greatly appreciated. moreOpen Question: Going on leave to UK?
Hi all, My husband is in the Navy and we are planning a trip to the UK this spring. He has requested his leave period but he need to do extra paperwork or training to be able to go. This is proving to be quite problematic because we can't find any instruction online and his command isn't being very clear on what they want or even where to find it. Any ideas? moreVoting Question: Anyone els a junior sailor and getting married or recently got married?
i was just wondering hows marrige working, how is she taking you being deployed, how hard is it having a spouse in the navy? im e1 should be e2 in the next month or so. i just finished "A" School and waiting on orders to my next command. i want to marry my girl of 2.5yrs maby in the following year. just worried hows life gonna be in the future. moreVoting Question: does any one know the chain of command in njrotc? I was a Sailor at NNPTC (Naval Nuclear Power Training Command), had a psychological break, and have tried to kill myself four times in the last month. I'm now at Fort Stewart, Georgia, awaiting a chain-of-command meeting and the terms of my discharge. I was just wondering how long it would take to get my discharge, since the longer they keep me here, the more likely I am to relapse and try to hurt myself again. moreResolved Question: Can I get some feed back on what I should do about military co location?
I am a Marine and my wife is in the navy, we both work on F-18's. only difference is that she works on supers and i work on legacy's. there is a base that has both that we can both go to. If my command will not help her and I out what should I do? If they don't help us then with both of our deployments and detachments then we will be separated for a total of about 3 years. I know i signed up to serve my country and im proud of what I've accomplished so far but I would rather be with my wife than be apart for the next 3 years. What should I do? moreResolved Question: Is tihs Navy address correct?

Not sure what to do? I love the Reserves but everytime I try to get orders to be deployed, I hit a road block! The Navy finally put me on the recall list and my unit complained about it. I have told everyone but my Commanding Officer that I really want to deploy... moreResolved Question: Did Alexander The Great Ever Visit Cyprus?
Hi Everyone, Firstly let me say Alexander The Great is my hero & a great source of inspiration for me in my life. I am a proud Greek Cypriot & I would love to know what Alexander's relationship with Cyprus was in his empire? The majority of information I can find is related to "the construction of warships for the campaign against the Carthaginians & the others who live along the coast of Libya & Iberia & the adjoining coastal regions as far as Sicily" (SOURCE: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_the_Great) "To reach the Tyrian walls, the Macedonians built a mole. But the Tyrians still commanded the sea and made the construction extremely difficult. Alexander needed ships to protect the construction, and he was lucky, because Aradus, Tripolis, Byblus, Beirut and Sidon had just recalled their navies. In July, the town was attacked from three sides: the Phoenician fleet destroyed the Tyrian fleet in the "Egyptian port"; Macedonian ships attacked the walls with siege engines; and marines from Cyprus landed in the 'Sidonian port' and forced their way into the city. The siege mole had, after all, been useless" (SOURCE: http://www.livius.org/aj-al/alexander/alexander07.html) Also, Cyprus was caught in the middle between wars between Persia on the one hand, and Athens and Sparta on the other. "Apart from its importance as a source of wood for shipbuilding, Cyprus was an important naval base. The Persian Mediterranean naval fleet was based at Cyprus. The Persian fleet that destroyed Sparta's fleet at Knidos in 394 BC set sail from Cyprus. Persian domination ended following the intervention of Alexander the Great and his victory at Tyre." "The intervention of Alexander the Great ushered in the Hellenistic period. On his death the empire was fought over by Ptolemy and Antigonos. Eventually Ptolemy prevailed. Cyprus was annexed by Egypt with Alexandria as its capital. A governor-general was appointed to run Cyprus. The Cypriot kingdoms were abolished in 312 BC" (SOURCE: http://home.clara.net/heureka/cyprus/history.htm) So judging from this information my country played a huge role in Alexander's army which fills me with great pride. It seems we were especially handy with regards to naval warfare & the construction of ships. What really would top it off for me is if Alexander actually ever visited Cyprus? I can't seem to find anywhere yet which says this happened but what do you guys think? moreResolved Question: difference between corpsman and MM1 in the US Navy rank.?
what's the difference between a US Navy corpsman and a US Navy MM1? which rank is higher? thanks. i just find it ironic that my ex and my dad were in the navy, but i have no idea how the heck their chain of command/rank works. please clue me in. [edit] to john: thanks, my dad was an MM1, i just know that my ex is a corpsman and he only passed basic a year ago. :] (btw, i'm a girl, so the name i put is kinda misleading). moreResolved Question: Bad financial situation...HELP?
I have recently found myself in a situation that is going from bad to worse. I recently got out of boot and am presently at "a" school. After doing a budget with a counselor at Navy Marine Corps Relief Society, I do not and will not for many years, make enough money to cover all of my and my wifes bills. I am 27 years old and an E-2, my wife makes just over min wage working her butt off. After doing a budget/financial analysis, we are 2500.00 short each month and there is really no way around not coming up with this money. We live within our means but I simply do not make enough money now. Befor joining I made decent money with my own construction business but due to the economy and rising health care I decided to enlist. All of my pre-boot camp finance stuff was kind of overlooked due to my high asvab score and the pushy nature of recruiters. My orig contract was to be a Navy Diver with a 30k bonus, but due to physical reasons that were discovered at boot, I had to re-class to a dif rate with no bonus. When I went to boot, we had planned on having that bonus as well as the extra pay that spec ops programs have. Due to loosing the bonus and extra pay, our finances are so far past what I can possibly pay, that I do not know what to do. For my rate I do need a security clearance, which I will not get and I will most likely be on non deployable status due to finances because I cant focus on my job with having to figgure out how to pay things. I have informed my chain of command about what is going on as well as NMCRS/FFSC. It seems like my only options are bankrupcy or being discharged from the Navy due to being non deployable or something. I have/am doing all that I can think of but I keep getting the same answer of " well theres nothing we can do". I didnt know that I was going to be this short each month or I would have gone reserve or not enlisted. Any advice would be appreciated as to my options. I have sold everything I can, havnt used a credit card in almost a year. We have rent, 2 older vehicles and just the basics (insurance, utils, etc.) Both of us have alot of student loans that have recently gone back into repayment since all the grace periods have been used. The late fees and past due fees on those and the cred cards have made turned a small snow ball into an avalanche. We have nothing more to sell or to cut back on. moreResolved Question: What does UA mean and what are the punishments in the Navy?
I have a friend is in the Navy and he was supposed to be at training, but he didn't go. He didn't go to work either. This was several months back he has been where he was supposed to for the past several months. Recently his chain of command pulled up his attendance records and compared them and realized he didn't go to either training or work until lunch on these days. They told him they have him on 22 counts of UA. What does this mean? What are the punishments for this? Is he really considered UA if he wasn't absent for the entire day? I know he should talk to JAG and he has an appointment for Monday but we would really like to get some answers now as the weekend is a long time to wait. Please no rude comments. Thanks! He has EP on all his evals since he was a SN and made E-5 in 3 years. I assume his chain likes him because they reccommend EP every eval. He ETS's in August. can anybody tell me where to find the regs on this? moreResolved Question: Can the military be held accountable for breach of contract?
I'm a member of the U.S. Navy, and was guaranteed an enlistment bonus of $16,000, in addition to promotion to paygrade E-4 upon completion of my training. I completed my training 8 months ago, and have not received my bonus, nor have I received my E-4 pay. At the moment, factoring backpay, they owe me around $20,000 and I'm yet to see a dime of it. I've filed paperwork, various chits, to get this fixed, and have seen no result, and even if I had seen a result, the immense delay before I've been able to see money that has been owed to me for nearly a year is absolutely ludicrous. I could have used this money months ago, hell, I could use it now. As such, I'm wondering if the Navy can be held accountable in a breach of contract suit, for failing to live up to items that have been guaranteed to me in writing, or is there some agency one can contact outside of one's individual command to get such things straightened out? It seems like a major part of the issue is the chain of command where I'm stationed having a bad habit of sitting around on paperwork. moreResolved Question: New army wife has questions about moving to her hubby's duty station?
I was reading more about joining my hubby(we got married in december) and...it sounds like I would be an 'acquired dependent" and that the army wouldn't pay for my moving with him? because he's lived on base at Hawaii for almost a year now before we were married, and we were married just this past December. Would hawaii be considered an overseas tour? What kind of stamp from the hospital would I need on the medical paperwork?(someone told him I needed to have it stamped?) The C.M.S has banned doctor's signature stamps and everything is electronically signed. I have already sent him my physical, my birth certificate, a copy of my photo ID, my Social Security Card and I had my HMO fill out the evaluation paperwork he sent me. IF he IS trying to get "command sponsorship"(I have no idea what that is) How long does that take?? It seems kind of ridiculous to be paying for two separate households. So would it just be easier to pay out of pocket(for just a plane ticket since I'd be getting rid of most of my possesions) and get my Military ID out there? That is what a friend of mine and her navy husband did. they just had to wait to be able to afford to move her. Also, if all he needed to get married pay was my Birth certificate and the marriage license,(again, this is what someone told ME) does that mean he's collecting BAH while still living in single soldiers barracks? Can't you get in trouble for that? I'm so confused, and frustrated...and I'm not sure what all is required here. I've been sick for a while, and unable to work, so that means that Paying my landlord for rent pretty much is not happening. Also, I cant receive medical aid here in IA because we're married, but I can't get Tri-Care or anything like that from him until the paperwork's completed. He works all the time, and is exhausted when he gets home, and not up to talking very much about it, because he's stressed out, and he doesn't even really know what's needed. He's a good man, and I know he loves me, he's just as stressed about getting me out here as I am about getting to him. So any answers are appreciated. <3 T. How quickly would it go through? and what Stamp were they talking about? I thought he would recieve BAH as soon as I was added as a dependant? well then, the chain of command should be the one moving their behinds, because they aren't being very helpful moreResolved Question: Army Orders Question?
I am an E6 in the Navy and know very little about how the Army operates and have a question. My brother is in the Army and called me today upset. He enlisted in the Army back in September 2009, he is currently an E2. He had orders to become some sort of technician and eventually a ranger. I believe it worked like this: 1st - Bootcamp, 2nd- AIT, 3rd- Airborne school, and 4th- Ranger Indoctrination (RIP). Anyway while he was running in formation in AIT he tore a muscle in his ankle and was put in a boot. His command knew about it and even sent up a waiver to get him exempt from his PRT. Anyway, his ankle is still messed up but he just got orders to report to Airborne school next Friday. From what Ive heard Airborne school is extremely physical and tough. He is upset because he hasnt run in almost 2 months because of his ankle and now he has to report to Airborne School next Friday. His ankle is not even fully recovered but his orders say to still report and if he is not medically qualified he loses his previous contract to be a Ranger. This is all my brother has wanted to be since he was a little kid and is thinking about just roughing it and trying Airborne school on a busted ankle. I know in the Navy if you have a medical issue or something requiring orders to be modified you contact your detailer and with the help of your chain of command have them write you an order modification for the same thing just at a later date. I dont want to see him lose his dreams because he injured his ankle in the dark and now cant get an order modification. Does anyone in the Army now know what he should do or if he can contact whoever writes his orders to get a date to Airborne school at a later date once he is medically well? As an E2 he has very little pull and I wish I could hell him but I'm not in the Army. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much! moreResolved Question: Which branch of the military would command space travel?
In the distant future, when mankind travels amongst the stars, which branch of the military will control the space ships? They would technically be flying craft, so I guess the Air Force might be in control. But in many space travel fiction stories (Halo and Star Trek for example) it is the Navy that controls the space ships. moreResolved Question: Russian navy claims Haiti earthquake was man-made?
Could that be possible? I came accross various articles on this subject online, here's one: The Russian Navy reports that the U.S. created the earthquake in Haiti The Northern Fleet has been monitoring the movements and activities of U.S. Marines in the Caribbean since 2008 when the Americans announced their intention to reestablish the Fourth Fleet, which was disbanded in 1950, and that Russia responded a year later, with the Fleet led by the nuclear-powered cruiser Peter the Great "by starting its first exercises in this region since the end of the Cold War.” Since the end of the decade of the 70's in the last century, the U.S. "advanced a lot" in the state of its earthquake weapons and, according to these reports, they now use equipment with Pulse, Plasma and Tesla Electromagnetic and Sonic technology together with "shock wave bombs." The report also compares the experiences of these two earthquake weapons of the U.S. Navy last week, when the test in the Pacific caused an earthquake of magnitude 6.5 to strike in the area around the town of Eureka, Calif., causing no casualties. But the test in the Caribbean caused the death of at least 140 thousand innocent people. According to the report, it is "more than likely" that the U.S. Navy had "full knowledge" of the catastrophic damage that this test earthquake could potentially have on Haiti and had pre-positioned its Deputy Commander of the Southern Command, General PK Keen, on the island to oversee aid work if needed. As regards the final result of the tests of these weapons, the report warns that there is a U.S. plan to destroy Iran through a series of earthquakes designed to overthrow its current Islamic regime. Additionally, according to the report, the system being tested by the USA (HAARP Project) would also create anomalies in the climate causing floods, droughts and hurricanes. According to another report, coincidentally, facts exist establishing that the earthquake in Sichuan, China on 12 May 2008, a magnitude 7.8 on the Richter scale, was also caused by HAARP radio frequencies. It can be observed that there is a correlation between seismic activity and the ionosphere, through the control of Radio Frequencies Induced by force fields, which is a HAARP feature, and it can be concluded that: 1 .- Earthquakes identical in depth and linearly on the same fault are caused by induced frequency linear projection. 2 .- A coordinated satellite configuration can generate concentrated frequency projections targeting specific points (force fields). 3. A diagram shows that earthquakes considered to be artificial propagate linearly at the same depth. -Venezuela, on January 8, 2010. Depth: 10 km. - Honduras, on 11 January 2010. Depth: 10 km. - Haiti, on 12 January 2010. Depth: 10 km. The rest of the aftershocks occurred at depths close to 10 km. Soon after the earthquake, the Pentagon said the hospital ship USS Comfort, which was docked in Baltimore, summoned its crew and sailed to Haiti, despite the fact that several days would elapse before arrival in Haiti. Nevertheless, Navy Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the U.S. armed forces were preparing an emergency response to the disaster. General Douglas Fraser, Commander-in-Chief of USSSOUTHCOM, said that Coast Guard and U.S. Navy vessels in the region were sent to offer help even if they had limited resources and helicopters. The aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson was sent from the naval base at Norfolk, Virginia, with a complete consignment of aircraft and helicopters. It arrived in Haiti early on the afternoon of January 14. Other additional groups of helicopters will attach with the Carl Vinson, said Fraser. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), operated in Haiti before the earthquake. President Obama was informed of the earthquake at 17.52 on January 12 and asked his staff to ensure that embassy officials were safe and began preparations to provide needed humanitarian assistance. According to the Russian report, the State Department, USAID and the U.S. Southern Command began its work of "humanitarian invasion" by sending at least 10,000 soldiers and contractors, to control Haitian territory, rather than the UN, after the devastating "experimental earthquake." moreResolved Question: cant find the woodland version of New navy working uniform?
My command now wears the Navy NWU's, i have four sets of the nwus but all our nex sells is the digital version. On navy's website it shows 2 styles, digital and woodland, where can i find the woodland version? moreResolved Question: can a command master chief get away with severe verbal abuse (including a word offensive to women)?
My husband was a nuclear electricians mate assigned to a sub. He was working 96-120 hrs a week with 3-section duty, and was constantly being verbally abused and mistreated, no matter how hard he worked. He never got in trouble or anything, he always did what he was supposed to, but was treated like he was lower than human. He got really depressed, suicidal, and was having nervous breakdowns, and was basically not the same person (I have know him since I was 15, the Navy sub is pretty close to destroying who he is). He was severely sleep deprived and had to drive like that regularly. Just the whole environment on his sub is extremely hostile and is a culture of cruelty and bad leadership. He eventually snapped and did what he was supposed to by talking to his boss, getting off that sub and going on T-div. He is currently in counseling. A couple days ago, he had to check in with the command master chief at T-div. He asked my husband a bunch of questions about what he sees in his future. My husband told him he hopes to be put on an aircraft carrier or be re-rated to something else, or if he can't stay in try to find employment that will pay our bills. The command master chief randomly flipped out on him, called him a "coward' and a "pussy", blamed deaths in Iraq on him, said everyone on the sub has to work more now because of him, and said "As long as I am here I will make it my mission to make sure you do not get re-rated and that you get kicked out of the Navy". This is a direct threat to our well being and I'm sure this man knows it. Does he even have the right or the authority to ruin my husband's Navy career and future if my husband did nothing wrong, always obeyed, worked hard and did what he was supposed to by asking to speak to a counselor? We were both very disturbed by those comments, and even though I was not present I find the word "pussy" to be very offensive because I am a woman. I don't think anyone in the military should be able to get away with disrespecting someone or use their title/authority as an excuse to abuse people. I know that in the Navy regulations there is Chapter 10 article 1023 about abuse of authority, but my husband says you can't get a higher up in trouble, and that when a subordinate is wronged by a higher-up and tries to take the correct actions against him, the higher-up get minor or no punishment and the innocent subordinate gets punished or discharged. Is this true and is there anything we can do so that this command master chief gets what he deserves and my husband can be treated fairly again? My husband did what he needed to do for his health. There was no way he would have been able to continue working on that particular sub with the type of abuse he was receiving without having psychological damage and damage to his personality. My husband is a really great person, a hard worker who would do anything for anyone and does not deserve this. Please answer this for us, our future and well-being is at stake, I would appreciate answers from anyone in the Navy, especially people who are command master chiefs or above. moreResolved Question: Navy Fraternization Question?
My college romance writing class has the assignment to form a 20 page short story. I wanted to base it off of a military story and I was hoping to get your help. Can you thoroughly explain what the chain of command means in reference to fraternization rules? (what is is?) Would it be considered fraternization for a E-5 intelligence officer to date a Navy Seal of higher rank? Sorry for all the questions lol Thanks in advance Sorry I meant Navy Seal Instructor lol moreResolved Question: Im in the navy, single and pregnant and would like help and or advice.?
I am 19 years old and joined the navy last april. I finished hospital corps school, and am now stationed in hawaii working in a navy health clinic. I just rescently found out that i am pregnant... and was told that with out being able to provide a family care plan, that i would be discharged after giving birth to my child...so after processing that i desided that i would like to go home BEFORE i have the baby. after talking to my chain of command about this, i have had alot of problems come up, and would really like someone who knows what they are talking about to contact me and give me advice on what should i do?? up until this has happened i really would never have wanted to get out of the military, but because im only an E-1 and alone i just dont think its realistic for me to stay in and be able to provide a happy life for me and my child. plus i have ENDLESS support back home...i would be really happy if i could find a way out, but my command is making that imposible!!! moreResolved Question: I need to change my RE 4 code!?
So I was discharged a year ago from the navy with an RE 4 code. I talked to an army recruiter today about enlisting and he said I could change my code. I was discharged for failure to rehabilitate. Here is the honest truth. I was 19 years old and living in the barracks I got into a tiff with my roommate and she told my command I was drinking every night(not true). I did drink sometimes. I was sent to rehab for 4 weeks and a month later unfortunately got caught drinking. This was last christmas. I awaited captains mast as I was told that was what I had to do. I stopped drinking because I was moved from where I was working to a much better place. When I was at my last command I was harassed by one PO sexually and verbally (i.e. slapping my ass and telling me to kill myself) I drank to forget about all the crap he put me through. So anyways at this new command I blossomed and my department head came to me and said he would do everything in his power to keep me in as I was a great asset to the Navy. Unfortunately the CO never saw me to hear my case and signed the discharge papers in February before my command could even help me. Also when I left my department head demanded I tell him why I did what I did. He said he knew something was wrong with that place I had been working before because there had been 2 other girls who had attempted suicide. I told him everything and he said he would do something about it. So I guess my question is can this be considered a reason for them to change this discharge so I can join the army? I come from a family background of military and I would do anything to get back in! I know the people I served with at my Second job would give me a great Reference and my department head said he would help me with anything like getting a job. Will this help me also? I'm so sorry this is so long. I just wanted someone to answer knowing all the information. Thank you to everyone who answers. moreResolved Question: How is my essay? Do i have a thesis? suggestions?

Topic: Canada's Role in WWII was essential to Britain's War effort. 1: Intro 2: Aerodrome of Democracy 3: Merchant Navy 4: Military (Liberation of France / D-Day) and (Defeat of Italy) 5: Conclusion Canada’s involvement in World War Two was critical to Britain’s success. During the war Canada helped Britain out with air force support. Canada also contributed to Britain’s war effort with their navy. Canada’s military was crucial to Britain’s success in the war. Canada’s role in World War Two was essential to Britain’s war effort with regards to the air force, navy, and military force. The air force support Canada provided Britain in World War Two led to their success in the war. Canadian planes played a major role in protecting the convoys heading to Britain from North America. These convoys supplied Britain with bullets, food, and other necessities. Without protection from the air the convoys would be taken out by the German air force. The Royal Canadian Air Force protected the convoys from both sides of the Atlantic. “It now provided air support to the Newfoundland Escort Force. In the eastern Atlantic the convoys were guarded by the RAF Coastal Command which included RCAF squadrons.” (Giesler, 6) The air force was also used to search for enemy planes and ships in which could inflict damage to the convoys. “The RCAF, with eight maritime patrol squadrons and 78 aircraft on the Atlantic seaboard, carried out increased air surveillance of the Northwest Atlantic.” (Giesler, 7) As the battle of Britain was going on, the British were running out of men and planes. “In 1940, as hundreds of Nazi bombers ravaged Britain, the RAF had only limited aircraft with which to fight back.” (Giesler, 40) Canada was able to supply Britain with pilots and planes from the Royal Canadian Air Force. “However during the winter 1940-41, the RAF bomber force was reinforced with young fliers from the air-training schools of Canada and by new aircraft from British and Canadian factories.” (Giesler, 40) This was made possible because of the British Commonwealth Air-Training Plan. This plan was put in place in December 1939 to provide training facilities for pilots from all parts of Commenwealth. “68 RCAF aircraft took part in the first 1000-bomber raid, and by the end of the war Canadian squadrons were sending out more than 200 heavy bombers in single raids carrying 900 tons of bombs.” (Giesler, 41) These were some of the many ways that the Royal Canadian Air Force helped Britain achieve victory in the war. Canada’s Merchant Navy played a major role in helping Britain defeat Germany in the Second World War. During World War Two Canada supplied Britain with huge amounts of goods of which were necessary for the war effort. These goods included such items as: food, bullets, tanks, weapons, and clothing. (http://www.vac-acc.gc.ca/remembers/sub.cfm?source=history/other/merchant/hist) These items were brought over by convoys of merchant ships coming from North America. “More than 25,000 merchant ship voyages from North America to Britain were made during the war”. (http://www.vac-acc.gc.ca/remembers/sub.cfm?source=history/other/merchant/hist) Without these ships, the troops in Europe would not have had enough supplies to fight the war with. “At the end of the war, Rear admiral Leonard Murray, Commander-in-Chief, Canadian North Atlantic, said ‘the Battle of the Atlantic was not won by any Navy or Air Force, it was won by the courage, fortitude and determination of the British and Allied Merchant Navy.’” (http://www.vac-acc.gc.ca/remembers/sub.cfm?source=history/other/merchant/hist) By the end of the war Canada’s production of the ships had shot up compared to the amount they had before the war. “When the war began, Canada had 38 ocean-going merchant vessels; by war’s end, more than 400 cargo ships had been built in Canada.” (http://www.vac-acc.gc.ca/remembers/sub.cfm?source=history/other/merchant/hist) Canada also played a major role in protecting the convoys from the German U-boats as they crossed the Atlantic. The Merchant ships traveled in these convoys for extra protection because the loss of ships increased dramatically throughout the war. “... convoys were formed to regulate ship movements and more effectively provide escorts both by sea and air.” (Giesler, 5) Protecting these convoys was one of Canada’s biggest roles in the war. “It was in maintaining the Atlantic lifeline through convoy protection that Canadian seamen and airmen played an increasingly vital role.” (Giesler, 5) Canada’s merchant navy, the Royal Canadian Navy and Canada’s ship building industry all played a major role in supplying the British with supplies throughout the war. Without their effort, the British would have had a hard time winning the war. Th The Canadian ground troops also contributed to the war effort. Liberation of France and Defeat of Italy were some of the major roles Canadian troops played in winning the war. D-Day was one of the very major battles that Canada fought in World War Two. Thousands of people from Canada, Britain, and the U.S were brought in for this battle. It was essential for this battle to go right. “More than 150,000 US, British, and Canadian soldiers were ferried across the English Channel to establish five beachheads (shorelines captured from the enemy).” (Adams, 54) There were five different beaches that had to be taken from the Germans in order for the plan to succeed. Canada occupied Juno beach, the beach that was most occupied by the S.S. German troops. As the Canadian’s hit the beach they were instantly hit with German bullets. “The Canadians were hit with heavy gunfire from German regiments occupying the seafront homes along the beach.” (Tanaka, 40) Canada was very successful on D-Day and made great distance into France after liberating the town of Juno. “… one troop of Canadians from Ontario’s 1st Hussars had pushed further inland than any other Allied unit.” (Brewster, 26) moreResolved Question: Cave dwelling General continues to out smart US intelligence and military Shouldn't someone be fired by now?

A report from the Russian Northern Fleet [transmitted to the Government of Venezuela] would seem to indicate that the earthquate that devastated Haiti was the "clear result of a seismic weapons test recently conducted by the US Navy". The Northern Fleet has been monitoring the movements and U.S. naval activities in the Caribbean since 2008 when the Americans announced their intention to re-establish the Fourth Fleet which had been dissolved in 1950, to which Russia responded a year later with a Russian fleet headed by the nuclear cruiser Peter the Great, thus kicking off its first exercise in this region since the end of the Cold War. Since the late 1970s, the U.S. have made tremendous progress in their seismic weapons research and, according to these Russian sources, currently employ devices based on Pulse, Plasma, Electromagnetic and Sonic technology combined with shock wave bombs. The report also compares two analogous tests carried out by the U.S. Navy last week: a 6.5 magnitude earthquake that hit the area around the town of Eureka, California, without causing any casualties, and the one in the Caribbean that caused the death of at least 140 thousand innocent people. As indicated in the report, it is "more than likely" that the U.S. Navy had "full knowledge" of the catastrophic damage that this test would potentially inflict on Haiti, which would explain why Lieutenant General P. K., Military Deputy Commander of U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) had been pre-positioned on the island to oversee the anticipated relief efforts. [1] The report further indicates that the ultimate objective of these tests is related to plans which foresee the destruction of Iran through a series of earthquakes designed to neutralize the current Islamic regime. According to the report, the system being tested by the United States (HAARP, for High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program) is also capable of creating weather anomalies which cause floods, droughts and hurricanes [2]. According to a previous report, the available data coincides with the one associated with the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Sichuan (China) on 12 May 2008, and which was also caused by electromagnetic waves emitted by HAARP. One can observe a correlation between seismic activities and the ionosphere, which is a HAARP feature: 1. Earthquakes identical in depth and linearly on the same fault are caused by induced frequency linear projection. 2. A coordinated satellite configuration can generate concentrated frequency projections targeting specific points (hippocampus). 3. A diagram shows that earthquakes considered to be artificial propagate linearly at the same depth. Location Date Depth Venezuela 8 January 2010 10 km Honduras 11 January 2010 10 km Haïti 12 January 2010 10 km A depth of 10 kms was also observed in the case of other replicas. Following the earthquake, the Pentagon announced that the hospital ship USNS Comfort, which was anchored in Baltimore, summoned its crew and sailed to Haiti, despite the fact that several days would elapse before its arrival. Nevertheless, Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, announced that the U.S. armed forces were preparing an urgent response to the catastrophe. General Douglas Fraser, Commander-in-Chief of USSOUTHCOM, indicated that Coast Guard and Navy vessels had been dispatched to Haiti, despite their limited cargo of helicopters and material. The super carrier USS Carl Vinson was sent from Virginia with a complete consignment of planes and helicopters. It arrived in Haiti on January 14 in the afternoon, as specified by Fraser who also remarked that additional helicopter groups would be joining the Carl Vinson. USAID was already on the spot before the earthquake. President Obama was informed about the earthquake on January 12 at 17h52 and ordered emergency services to be provided to the staff of his Embassy and humanitarian assistance to the population. According to the Russian report, the State Department, USAID and the U.S. Southern Command launched their humanitarian invasion by deploying 10000 soldiers and contractors, in lieu of the United Nations, to take control of Haitian territory following the "devastating experimental earthquake. Ok. I’ll try to make this as precise as I possibly can. The Army Vs. Navy. In a 3 day (so no one talks about needing to restock from a drawn out battle), world-wide battle. Each side cannot use anything that is outside of their immediate Definition of Army/Navy. I mean the Army cannot use a Nuke, if they needed the president’s permission. So if either side has to petition another form of military or Permission from someone outside the Army/Navy then they cannot use those weapons in this battle. However I don’t know much about either Army or Navy so I don’t’ know what they cover… but for example if an Air Craft carrier can deploy its planes and both the planes and the pilots are considered to be Property or Persons of the Navy then that’s ok to use. If the planes or pilots fall under the Air Force section (must get permissions/missions from the Air force chain of command) then it wouldn’t be ok. Also, You can assume that all forms of command are intact and in contact. (I’m saying this so someone doesn’t say “A Navy captain can authorize a Nuke launch if there isn’t a president” ect) Also Chain of command only counts up those only in charge of the Army/Navy (say if there is a General who commands more than one military section. If such exists.) Please Support your answers with facts. I’ll Add details if someone points out a cheap flaw in the terms. moreResolved Question: Pregnant in A-school and going to a C-school?

Okay , we have been asked for homework to write a East bloc v. Western bloc war scenario. So here is a summary of my primary idea for it ; - tell me what you think , or what I need to improve ETC - any advice appreciated It's 1983 , Reagan is in power as the US president (obviously) and tensions with the Soviet Union begin to build. Operation Able Archer '83 ends on the 11th of November , but leaves a noticeable feeling of hostility and mistrust between the two sides. The Soviet Union , in the December begins to suffer vast fuel shortages , weakening its economy. The US domination of the Persian gulf prevents the Soviets being able to purchase the necessary amount of Oil from the region to revitalize its economy. In an attempt to force the US into a position where it has to consent to the Soviet Union purchasing oil from the region , the Politburo orders Warsaw Pact forces to blockade West Berlin. However , this time , a much more dangerous scenario occurs than in 1949 , The Soviet Union vows to shoot down any NATO aircraft that enters the airspace of East Germany , effectively cutting the West Berlin off from the west. As the people imprisoned behind the Berlin wall find that supplies are running low , negotiations fail. And the American Strategic Nuclear Forces reduce to a status of Def con 3. Pershing II missile which could hit the russian capital within eight minutes of their launch are deployed across western Europe , intensifying the situation. In the February of 1984 , The Berlin Brigade is mobilized and this action makes the Soviet Union feel increasingly threatened. Soviet TU-95 Patrols begin to penetrate American airspace undeterred by the intercepting American fighter aircraft. Then , in march , a squadron of Soviet bombers is detected heading towards Anchorage (Alaska) , Fighter jets are scrambled to meet them , however , they continue , despite warning shots being fired across their path. The US air force decides to take action and orders that they shoot the bombers down if they penetrate US airspace - they do. Relations between the Kremlin and Pentagon fall to an all time low , and the US government decides to prepare the NATO forces in Europe for an all out war with the Soviet Union. A massive Convoy is readied which contains military supplies and troops destined for Europe , on hearing this , the Soviet Union decide to mount a massive naval blockade , running from the tip of Southern Norway , to the Northern spain , and announce passing it will be an act of war. The US convoy , escorted by Royal navy escorts , penetrates it , and a massive naval battle ensues. After the first hour over 15% of the Convoy is destroyed, but then the tide turns and the US and British navies manage to use the air superiority provided by their aircraft carriers in the area to attack the soviet fleet damaging and sinking it. The Atlantic shipping lanes remain open , but world war three has begun. Last ditch diplomatic efforts come to nothing , and across Europe , governments begin to broadcast terrifying civil defense programs. Now the NATO forces in Europe are fully mobilized and a period of non-action passes. Then in May , the Soviets surprise everyone and invade Iran and Iraq. NATO forces in Europe are ordered to begin an advance into East Germany to free West Berlin and deter the soviet action , meanwhile , the US scrambles bombers to attack a massive Soviet airbase set up in Iran. The bombers are attacked by fighter aircraft and shot down , so , in a chilling turn of events the US air-blast a nuclear bomb over the airbase. The airbase is destroyed but in response The Soviets authorize a attack on the West German capital Bonn using biological weapons. Now , the US decides to respond in kind , Strategic Air Command authorizes nuclear attacks on Vladivostok , Leningrad and Murmansk as part of a response to show their resolve. In response attacks early warning stations across the UK attacking with bombers armed with conventional , non-nuclear weapons as well as attacking New York , New Orleans and Newport News with ICBMs. The USA sees no alternative. Strategic air Command takes to the air and SIOP is initiated. The Soviet Union launches its Nuclear weapons in response , and targets across Europe and America are destroyed - in total 4000 megatons are exchanged. So what do you think - any comments ? moreResolved Question: Sept 11 /11 The ten year anniversary of being outsmarted by a cave dwelling General How will you celebrate?

Lots of community service hours, especially in Salvation Army and Meals on Wheel (which I take pride doing the best I can to provide healthy meals to low-income family and seniors). Outstanding letters of recommendation from my councilor, AP Calculus teacher/National Honor Society and Football Coach. All are in top 10% and top 1%. If one is in JROTC, it is CRITICAL to have your commander/ Senior Army Instructor's letter of recommendation, because they want to know how well one do in leadership class. Mine got all top 1%, except involvement in JROTC activities, which I got top 10%. My JROTC SAI is West Point grad, his recommendation alone is powerful, from the NROTC regional coordinator in Portland , Oregon. But this one would give me a big advantage over the majority of the applicant. I'm a naturalized citizen and have been here a little more than 4 years, for all the of teacher that know me, they are shocked of how well I do in class compare to my peers, especially in AP classes. My main reason to go to NROTC is to serve my country, to protect and defend America from her enemies. I will unquestionably put my life to preserve the "American dreams" for others, just like me today. The interview asked me how will I treat him if I'm his commanding officer, I gave him my honest reponse: " I will treat you and other under my command as of all of you are my biological brothers, with love, respect, dignity and honor". By the way, I received a congressional nomination to Annapolis. Do you think it would help my application if i would fax it along with my application? What do you guys think of my statistics and commitment to the Navy and this country? Please give me your honest advices. moreResolved Question: How's that new Vietnam War working out for you, President NPP?
