Resolved Question: I really need help re: memorial flag display case...?
I am buying a display case for my spouse. It is for his father who is a vetran obviously.. but I have some questions. I can have it engraved. For the dates under his name, do I put the DOB and date of death or dates he served? I am so confused. Also, how do I fold the flag in there? Is this something that is easy? Where or who can I go to get this done. This is something that needs to look immaculate in my opinion. It is a special gift from me and my mother n law. I need some guidance from ssomeone who knows what they are talking about and can help. Mature people and answers only please. Thank you in advance and God Bless those who serve. I already know where I am going to purchase it. It is online. That is why I was wondering where I can take it. And yes I am getting it engraved, wanted to know what dates are needed. moreResolved Question: If the music had stopped where you were what would you have done in this case?
THE MUSIC STOPPED This is written from a Chaplain in Iraq: I recently attended a showing of 'Superman 3' here at LSA Anaconda. We have a large auditorium we use for movies, as well as memorial services and other large gatherings. As is the custom back in the States, we stood and snapped to attention when the National Anthem began before the main feature. All was going as planned until about three-quarters of the way through The National Anthem the music stopped. Now, what would happen if this occurred with 1,000 18-22 year-olds back in the States? I imagine there would be hoots, catcalls, laughter, a few rude comments; and everyone would sit down and call for a movie. Of course, that is, if they had stood for the National Anthem in the first place. Here, the 1,000 Soldiers continued to stand at attention, eyes fixed forward. The music started again. The Soldiers continued to quietly stand at attention. And again, at the same point, the music stopped. What would you expect to happen? Even here I would imagine laughter, as everyone finally sat down and expected the movie to start. But here, you could have heard a pin drop. Every Soldier continued to stand at attention. Suddenly there was a lone voice, then a dozen, and quickly the room was filled with the voices of a thousand soldiers, finishing where the recording left off: "And the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. Oh, say does that Star Spangled Banner yet wave, o'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave." It was the most inspiring moment I have had here in Iraq. I wanted you to know what kind of Soldiers are serving you here. Remember them as they fight for you! Pass this along as a reminder to others to be ever in prayer for all our soldiers serving us here at home and abroad. For many have already paid the ultimate price.. Written by Chaplain Jim Higgins LSA Anaconda is at the Ballad Airport in Iraq, north of Baghdad. moreResolved Question: A prospective employer is asking me to complete an online survey in order to get a face-to-face interview.Scam?
This is sending up red flags in my head like crazy but I can't find any information online on scams like these. Has anyone here ever been asked to do this? Do you know for a fact that this is a scam and where can I find more info about it? This is what happened: Yesterday (Memorial Day!) I sent out a couple of application emails to postings I found on Craigslist. Since I am very weary of scams, I only put my email address on my resume and did not provide any other contact info. This morning, I got an email back from one of the prospective employers (a real estate agency) telling me that after an exhaustive research (remember I only sent my application in yesterday, which was a holiday) I had been chosen among 425 applicants to be one of the 15 candidates to get interviewed. However, it would be a telephone interview unless I completed an online "questionnaire" for one of their partners, in which case I would be "rewarded" with an in-person meeting. I clicked on the link they provided and found it to be just another of those many survey sites (I think it was called surveynetwork.com) and the questionnaire they want me to complete is about my hobbies, personal life, whether or not I am married, whether or not I plan to buy a house or car, whether or not I plan to have a baby in the next 6 months, what electronic appliances I own, what diseases and alergies I have, what medications I take, etc. Naturally, I filled in a fictitious name and gave them the address and phone number for our local supermarket, but I am still concerned about these tactics. It seems so unprofessional to me, would an employer actually do this?? Vicky, I have no clue what you wrote. Thanks so much for your answer Austin, I figured it was something like that. So frustrating when you are desperately trying your best to get a job in this economy and find yourself having to deal with this crap. I can't tell you how many scammers have already emailed me. One of them even called himself "Owen Wilson". Right... moreResolved Question: BB gun carrying question 2???????? Need help?
Guys I just posted a question about carrying a bb gun. I got many good answers, but not many were correct. If you look at this bellow: "12556 (a) No person may openly display or expose any imitation firearm, as defined in Section 12550, in a public place. (b) Violation of this section, except as provided in subdivision (c), is an infraction punishable by a fine of one hundred dollars ($100) for the first offense, and three hundred dollars ($300) for a second offense. (c) A third or subsequent violation of this section is punishable as a misdemeanor. (d) Subdivision (a) shall not apply to the following, when the imitation firearm is: (1) Packaged or concealed so that it is not subject to public viewing. (2) Displayed or exposed in the course of commerce, including commercial film or video productions, or for service, repair, or restoration of the imitation firearm. (3) Used in a theatrical production, a motion picture, video, television, or stage production. (4) Used in conjunction with a certified or regulated sporting event or competition. (5) Used in conjunction with lawful hunting, or lawful pest control activities. (6) Used or possessed at certified or regulated public or private shooting ranges. (7) Used at fairs, exhibitions, expositions, or other similar activities for which a permit has been obtained from a local or state government. (8) Used in military, civil defense, or civic activities, including flag ceremonies, color guards, parades, award presentations, historical reenactments, and memorials. (9) Used for public displays authorized by public or private schools or displays that are part of a museum collection. (10) Used in parades, ceremonies, or other similar activities for which a permit has been obtained from a local or state government. (11) Displayed on a wall plaque or in a presentation case. (12) Used in areas where the discharge of a firearm is lawful. (13) A device where the entire exterior surface of the device is white, bright red, bright orange, bright yellow, bright green, bright blue, bright pink, or bright purple, either singly or as the predominant color in combination with other colors in any pattern, or where the entire device is constructed of transparent or translucent materials which permits unmistakable observation of the device's complete contents. Merely having an orange tip as provided in federal law and regulations does not satisfy this requirement. The entire surface must be colored or transparent or translucent. (e) For purposes of this section, the term "public place" means an area open to the public and includes streets, sidewalks, bridges, alleys, plazas, parks, driveways, front yards, parking lots, automobiles, whether moving or not, and buildings open to the general public, including those that serve food or drink, or provide entertainment, and the doorways and entrances to buildings or dwellings. (f) Nothing in this section shall be construed to preclude prosecution for a violation of Section 171b, 171.5, or 626.10 Does it means I can carry it, but not show it in the public? What are the charges for carrying one if I'm underage? moreResolved Question: where is the Justice Department located in Washington D.C.?
PRESS RELEASE JOSEPH MICHAEL HOUSTOUN WILL BE: “Hitching-A-Right to Washington” TO HIS NATION’S CAPITOL THIS MEMORIAL DAY, WITH A CONSORTED FOCUS SEEKING NOTHING BUT JUSTICE FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMANT OF JUSTICE FOR THE PERSONAL VIOLATION AND DECIMATION OF MY ENTIRE LIFE, DUE TO THE: PRESIDENT BUSH TOP SECRET N.S.A. SPY PROGRAM My name is Joseph Houstoun, I, now, after much agonizing find it profoundly and urgently necessary, to go public with my true torture story that spans out over the past 4.5 years to present. A story unlike any other perhaps in our nation’s history, one of torture, abuse and one that has deprived me of every single “Right of Citizenship” afforded to me under Constitution of the United States of America. This incredible story starts after I personally and painstakingly found; The President Bush Top Secret N.S.A. SPY PROGRAM on my business/home computers. Sadly I had to discover this hidden cyber system, after my 8 years of archived professional and personal information was destroyed. That’s when they slowly started to decimate, torture and destroyed my entire professional, personal and family life. Today, I’m left with nothing, in a material or economic sense, owing thousands to those who faithfully assisted me through it all, and deprived of the ability to earn an income. To the point; From at what I first viewed as my Countries; National Security Agency calling on me to serve my much beloved country once again: To the realization now, that from day one in July of 2004 in it's totality, it was nothing short of what I think can only best be described as: “One Huge Deception of Patriotic Faith” all done with the intent to recruit me, I thought ever so incredibly proudly to become an N.S.A. Agent". Shortly there after, I was told as much I was not only dealing with the N.S.A. but as well the C.I.A. This was for certain an extremely well, Pre- Planned, Masterfully Crafted, long thought-out method to capture this patriot by hook-line and sinker into service. So as directed, through this incredibly deceptive recruitment approach, I and for such a long period of “blind faith time”, preformed thousands of task, after I accepted the role. It is of my opinion, that my personal government abuse story will very likely be, the missing voice/ link, that brings the rule of law and judicial accountability to the previous Administration's; D.O.J.’S, ill advised, extremely arrogant, lawless, unconstitutional and unbridled thugs. In conclusion, I am going to take this public one way or the other, and I am hereby offering to the media at large, the opportunity to break open a story that WILL dwarf the N.S.A. Illegal Wiretapping/ Spy Story, that I’m sure you know, exposed the unconstitutional and lawless Wire-tapping Program that President Bush ordered after 9-11. I will start my “Hitch-A-Right to Washington” Program to provide this unimaginable, American True Story personally to every single person I have the pleasure to meet along the way, towards the great State of Washington. I shall depart this small quiet lakeside town in the heart of the Great State of Florida, where I recently was forced to take refuge, after loosing it all, as an Innocent U.S.of A. Army, Veteran. If you would like to get in contact with me and get the STORY OF THE DECADE, simply look for the guy “thumbing-it” as I walk down Florida State, Hwy. 19 wearing all black clothing, with the colors of the U.S. Flag and or the neon colored sign attached to my suit case with the phrase clearly visible from a distance, that states: “NSA SPY VICTIM”. I will be starting my lengthy journey to D.C. with my final destination being the: The Very First Step of the United States Depart of Justice. Once there, I will “Bitch-A-Tent” and will not leave until; I receive “Good ‘Old American Justice” (get arrested :), by receiving my due compensation that, damn sure better be afforded unto myself, through My Constitutional Protection as Written, Signed and Rarely Amended. i.e. My Bill of Rights. My intent you ask? As to not let down: My Forefathers, All The Dead U.S. Service Veterans (especially their Heroic Families) and all the other Great American Men/Women, that possessed a clear conscious, especially those that God Blessed with the all illusive, Commonsense and Wisdom, to Washington D.C. on that “Day of Freedom for All”. Note: The Constitution I speak of just happens to be, the same one that my Greatest of Grandfathers, he was a Delegate to the Continental Congress for the State of Georgia from 1784 through 1786, and to the United States Constitutional Convention in 1787. Assisting in the Construction and the Enactment of: “Our Greatest Nation’s Book of Supreme Law’s.” God Blessed America Once and He Might Just Do it Again Faithfully, Joseph Michael Houstoun, moreResolved Question: Do they sell display cases for gun shells?
I received the shell from a rifle shot at my pop's memorial service. Does anyone sell display cases for them. It's about 3 inches long. I would like to have a case to display it in along with his flag and a Bible given in honor of him from the VFW. moreResolved Question: heres a essay can someone help me with it please?
I have been asked the very important question of, “How do you honor veterans?”. Some people might say celebrations, parades and memorials, others might show their respect by treating our flag and our country with dignity and honor. Those would be correct statements, but i feel we can do much more than that. Everybody knows that our veterans, and the wars they fought in, are what makes this country the world superpower that it is known as today. This let us enjoy the many different freedoms that we have due to their selflessness. We owe a great deal of debt to those veterans, who in the face of great danger, overcame their enemy while showing honor and valor toward this country. This debt, however, cannot be repaid through parades, memorials, celebrations or fancy speeches. No, our greatest repayment to our glorious veterans is to always remember what they did for us and to NEVER disrespect them or anything they stood for. They gave us the right to live life as we know it, a right few other countries possess. Veterans gave up their rights, their bodies and their lives so that you may enjoy yours. Many were in the same age group as you and I, young men and women 16 and older in many cases. They made the tough decision to give up all they knew to enter into one of our armed forces in times of great need. These brave young men and women answered the call of duty. Those proud veterans you see, were young once too and had their wholes live ahead of them.. It is this sacrifice alone that i greatly appreciate and that has convinced me that the only way to truly honor America’s veterans is to live our lives responsibly and happily. We all owe it to them to live out which was taken from them. They fought for our right to exist, and we owe them that existance. Above everything i know, this is the most important way that we may honor those great veterans of our past wars. Those young men and women fought for America, and they fought for our freedom, it’s true. But the veterans of our future are now even fighting for the freedoms of people in other countrys. We should respect and stick with all of our veterans from the civil war (or the war of two countrys) to Desert Storm and the current War on Terrorism! This is another thing many Americans forget all too often, sadly. In my opinion simply being an American is a sign of respect which is only granted to those few lucky people. If you want to show your respect by performing ceremonial acts, parades or creating memorials of patriotism, as you should, do so. But the payment is much better if you take your freedom, paid for by blood, and live your life the way it was meant to be lived. Don't hold back and just show the American veterans that their sacrifices were not in vain. moreResolved Question: Need help with cross-examining questions !?
the case is about Jermy Johnson who was arrested by the police for banning the desolation of th U.S. flag during a memorial day parade. Issues presented are: is the burning of the US flag a sign of political protest protected by the First amendment? As you may recall, on Memorial Day, some Liberal protesters were burning the American flag in my town. I walked over toward them and when I got near them, one of these dirtbags, wearing an old Clinton-Gore T-shirt, got too close to me and sorta brushed up against me . So, I reached back and smacked the taste out of his mouth. When the police saw what happened, they rushed over and I told them I feared for my safety. As you know, the Lib was charged with assaulting me even though I smacked him silly! Haha. Well, the court hearing occurred today. The officer, of course, was there and we had a good conversation. The prosecutor was a cool guy as well. They were being flirtatious. Well, the Lib tried to plead "not guilty." LOL. He said I used the event as a pretext to whack him and that he had no intention of doing any harm to me. He was found guilty of misdemeanor assault, among other things, fined $300 plus court costs, and sentenced to 40 hours of Community Service!!! moreMemorial Flag Cases Search Results
