Open Question: I can't log in to Pal talk Scene?
Windows 7. Firewall is turned off. Yesterday I logged in successfully several times but today it's impossible. How do I fix the problem? moreResolved Question: Does this make me a bad friend?
Alright, so I was walking back from the store with my friend yesterday, when this car began to follow us. The man rolled down the window and asked my friend if she had a boyfriend. She said no, and the man jumped out of the car and tackled her, completely disregarding my presence. I panicked and kicked the man in the ear. He fell off her, but proceeded to throw dirt in my eyes and remount her. The sting of the dirt in my eye caused me to run into a low wall and bloody my lower shins. I then ran from the scene out of pure fear and confusion. I have no idea what has happened to my friend, and her phone has been off for a week. I haven't yet called the police in case she just lost it or something. Perhaps something bad has happened, but I really hope not. Please tell me two things: #1 - Am i really a bad person? #2 - Do you think she will forgive me? Thank you! I liek trutles moreVoting Question: Can someone help me to analyse the opening scene of 'The Dark Knight'?
What I want to do is produce a table which has 3 columns (point, evidence, explain). The point has to be something to do with sound and lighting, and camera shots in the dark knight and the evidence has to be from the clip. I have already started it by writing: a single camera zooms into a building mid-way, which makes us feel as if we’re flying towards the building. Whilst this is going on, low ominous thuds are heard. These make us feel uncomfortable and we feel as if something is coming. Then, a window on the building suddenly smashes, and we suddenly jump-cut to another shot, where we see out of the window that has just been broken. There are 2 men that are getting ready to glide in mid-air to the next building. The camera doesn’t really focus on the 2 men, so they are not important. I need at least 5 points, and i will write it up but i just need the ideas (point) and the evidence and the explanation. Please help me, i will give loads of points to those who help. Thank you so so so much in advance. BTW, the clip can be found on YouTube in HD. Basically theres this huge underwater laboratory where they study great white sharks with certain drugs. And they give some sharks a drug that makes them go mad and one charges towards the big glass window (i remember this scene) and breaks it. Then all the workers form a team and they all try to get to the surface as the water gets higher. It's a bit like the Posiedon Adventure. And I also remember this one scene where they are climbing up this huge verticle tunnel by a ladder, and all of a sudden it starts to fill up with water (and a few sharks) and a woman falls into a sharks mouth legs first and gets eaten in a very dramatic way. I think there's also one scene where a man is leaning into a docking hole in the floor where they bring in the sharks (this is still underwater) and a shark rips his arm off, but that might have been another film. Does anyone know what this film is called? moreResolved Question: Can anyone translate this monologue from 'All's Well that Ends Well' into modern English ?
Or tell me how the character should be played? I am struggling!!! Act IV Scene II Diana: When midnight comes, knock at my chamber-window: I'll order take my mother shall not hear. Now will I charge you in the band of truth, When you have conquer'd my yet maiden bed, Remain there but an hour, nor speak to me: My reasons are most strong; and you shall know them When back again this ring shall be deliver'd: And on your finger in the night I'll put Another ring, that what in time proceeds May token to the future our past deeds. Adieu, till then; then, fail not. You have won A wife of me, though there my hope be done. For which live long to thank both heaven and me! You may so in the end. My mother told me just how he would woo, As if she sat in 's heart; she says all men Have the like oaths: he had sworn to marry me When his wife's dead; therefore I'll lie with him When I am buried. Since Frenchmen are so braid, Marry that will, I live and die a maid: Only in this disguise I think't no sin To cozen him that would unjustly win. moreResolved Question: Heavy Rain Plot Holes??? **SPOILER**?
First off I'd like to say I loved the game (although it may not seem like it lol) but my experience was soured slightly by some significant plot holes and I'm wondering if I've just missed something or if you have to have a different outcome to get some answers or if the game has just been a bit unpolished by quantic dream... -How did Shelby kill Manfred(the antique dealer)? I saw the flashback where it shows you Shelby hitting him over the head with something but as far as I can remember you control Shelby the whole time and you stay in the front of the shop with Lauren until Manfred takes too long and you find him dead. -Why would Shelby care the Lauren died? In my game I kicked out the window in the car before I untied Lauren so she died. Then Shelby goes to Kramer's to get revenge. But whouldn't be glad she was out of the picture as she was effectively trying to find HIM. -When Shelby's mother whispers his name to Maddison she looks shocked but how would she even know who he is? They hadn't crossed paths. -What happened to Ethan's wife/Shaun's mother? I know if Ethan dies she goes to the grave with Shaun but in my game Ethan and Shaun get an appartment together and she's nowhere to be seen. Are we supposed to believe she would just let her only son (who had just been rescued form certain death) leave and live with her ex-husband. -And what I think is the biggest plot hole - What's with Ethan's blackouts? I know he has blackouts because of the fact he was in a coma and the trauma of his son dieing but why does he always wake up in that street and more importantly why does he have the origami pieces in his hand? Like I said I really loved the game, I thouht it was a great change of pace to the usual shoot 'em ups and the like and I'm hoping there are simple answers to my problems rather than plot holes. Also did anyone jump out of the window in Shelby's appartment in the fire scene? If so does Maddison die like she says she would? Thanks. moreResolved Question: I was slowly forgetting about this person after a few years, now for some reason, they are coming back to me ?
When I was at school, I had a favourite teacher from the start of school till the end of high school. This teacher was my sports teacher for 5 years, but wasn’t teaching me in year 10. She was pregnant. She was a married female teacher and I am a female. She only became my favourite teacher because she supported me when I got bullied on the first day of school. She carried on supporting me all through my high school life. She use to favour me as a student when I had her as my sports teacher. She use to put me in good positions when we were playing netball, football and athletics. She also use to give me hints in games (she never use to do this to any other student). She use to smile at me and joke with me and she use to approach and talk to me (about anything). She once offered a lift home that I had to agree with. She seemed to be nice to me all the time. From that, I started to give her gifts as thank yous. These gifts made her start a strong connection with me, which blossomed into something different. She use to give me those long stares in the eyes that were addictive that she use to do from afar. She use to watch me play badminton through the window when she was upstairs in the gym where I was in the sports hall. She had a big smile when i caught her watching me play. However, I never got wrong off her once, but if I did get worng by a teacher she use to defend me and be against a teacher, which was surprising. The locking eyes didn't start until I was in year 10, but yeat 11 ( the last year of school) her emotions started to show – clearly. The last day of school she was sad (looking sad) when she saw me and said a sad farewell. I didnt know why in year 11 she came back from her paternity leave so quick to teach again, she started on the day of my of sports lesson - she was teaching us. She was smiling. I think it must be yr 11's had only weeks before they finish school so she doest miss out of saying goodbye. A year later (when i left school), I came back to see my friends at school, and it was their last year at school this time. I was with my mates in the school car park and she suddenly came to the scene and I looked back to see whose car was it (she came bk from home). She managed to see me and I seen her - she had a big smile on her face when she saw me. She parked her car and came out of the car and stared at me in a happy way - longer than usual. We talked and she was happy to see me by the smiles she was giving me (she was teasing too). This year was the last time I seen her. After a couple of years later, I didn’t go back to the school after the year I went to see my friends, I carried on doing my studies for three years – she was slowly faded away from my mind. This year I finished my College life, she now seems to come back to my mind a lot. The first time this year when I was started to think of her again, I could feel my heart sinking when I suddenly thought of her (excitement/full of energy). I now can’t stop thinking of her now. What does this all mean? Has she now begun to think about me know as the student she said bye to a couple of years ago <– sadly for me to think of her again? moreResolved Question: If you delete something from Windows Movie Maker is there anyway in getting it back?
I just deleted a movie i was making like 10 minutes ago by accident on windows movie maker when I was trying to cut out a scene. This really takes the piss lol.So is there anyway in getting it back Thanks :D moreResolved Question: Windows Movie Maker file problem?
I'm making a movie on Windows Movie Maker Version 5.1 The video I'm making requires me to use several videos (movie scenes) which can be found on the internet, especially YouTube. I would've thought that the easiest way of getting all of the clips from the internet onto Movie Maker was to use Youtube Downloader, and then use FormatFactory to change them into the right type. However, FormatFactory doesn't have any format types which Movie Maker supports, therefore not letting me input the clips onto Movie Maker. Does anyone know how I can get these clips onto Movie Maker? Thanks in advance moreResolved Question: What are you thoughts of this extract from my book. Do you think it needs more?
(This is the latest extract of my book i have posted on YA. This extract is over half way through the book. So the reader will know the Characters backgrounds; how they look, how they think and talk. The main protagonist is called Matt and is written in first person view present tense. The parts where the grammar is incorrect is done on purpose. This extract is in the aftermath of the events that have just occurred so the reader will know exactly whats just happened. so when you think of the emotion, the reader will already know whats running through his mind and how he has been feeling. Remember this is only the first draft) As I leave the Tavern I try calling Hannah but wont answer my calls. I send her text saying I’m sorry and for her to meet me in the coffee shop. Sitting at the window seats I patiently wait for her in the busy coffee shop. The whispers are all around me, the only topic on everybody’s lips today is about me and Lexi. Hannah hasn’t replied to my text yet so I don’t know if she will even turn up. As I sit staring out the steamed up window thinking of the last 24 hours, the anger is starting to be replaced by pain. Drifting away that whole scene from yesterday keeps playing over and over in my mind. As I stare out the window at nothing, Jodie knocks on the window getting my attention. Snapping myself out of it she walks inside, “Wow superstar, you look a state. Are you ok?” Running my hands through my hair I shake my head. She concerningly looks at me, “Matt what’s going on? I’ve seen that pain in your eyes before. Its not a good sign.” “What you’ve not heard what everybody is talking about?” She comes sits next to me shaking her head, “No I’ve been busy with the magazine. But that look in your eyes…I’ve seen it twice before now, so I’m guessing it has something to do with Hannah or Lexi.” “Lexi…We are over. Done. That’s it!” She gently laughs, “Yeah right, you two are the happiest dysfunctional couple ive ever known. This is what you do, you argue, break up, get back together like nothing ever happened. It’s what you guys do.” I shake my head, “Not this time. Not after what I found out yesterday.” I look up into Jodie’s eyes, “It’s over. Why can’t girls just be like you hey. Fun and uncomplicated.” Standing up she takes my hands and pulls me up with her, “Come on, lets rid of that look, I don’t like it, I never did. You need a Jodie special.” I shake my head, “I’m not really in the mood for kinky sex. And by the way you would never of met me if it wasn’t for the pain I was in.” She laughs, “Firstly you’re in need of a pick me up, not sex. Secondly I would of met you, but I wouldn’t of met the obnoxious as*hole inside of you first. So lets not let him out, ‘cause I don’t really like that version of you.” She leads me out the coffee shop and looks towards the diner. I shake my head telling her we get in too much trouble in there. She has a mischievous smile as she tells me to follow her. Knowing this is going to lead to trouble I follow her, because she is right I need to take my mind off Lexi, and only Jodie has a knack of doing that. (Also let me know what you take from this. Where you think this is leading) the reason its present tense and not past is beacuse the book as a whole wouldnt have the same impact id it was in past tence and him looking back on it moreResolved Question: Can you tell me what you think of my one liners?
i was just wondering about any i should take out that aren't very funny I was robbing this bank and I decided that I’d go in the back and shine a mirror on the tiles so that the cameras wouldn’t work. Half way through I got caught and then I realised there was a flaw In my plan. It wouldn’t have been to bad but all 3 of accomplices were descendants of Dracula so I got done on 3 counts. One of these blokes had a bloodsucking insect with them and when the cops surrounded us we persuaded it to flee. My driver was a herb specialist, he did time I nearly escaped when I was on trial but I got caught. When I was in prison there was glass instead of bars on my window but it was so strong I couldn’t smash it. That was a real pain. They say don’t they that crime doesn’t pay but it obviously does because otherwise people wouldn’t bother. My cellmate climbed Everest with size 14 shoes, now that was no small feet. There was one man in there who was sailing a boat with loads of drugs onboard and it started sinking and he was chucking the water back out with a bucket I didn’t really get to know him he got bail. There was a pig in there and he just stayed I his cell all day and didn’t speak to anyone. He was a right bore The was a dog as well and he was in for speeding but it wasn’t really fair because the cops had bee tailing him for miles. There was a fish in the cell opposite me and he always played guitar but it sounded horrible so one day I went over and asked him if he needed a tuner There was a man who lived in the cell ext to me he was a serial killer. Poor bloke No one sat with him at breakfast. Someone once said to me . Poverty may be the mother of crime, but lack of good sense is the father” and that’s probably why I robbed the bank because my mums a tramp and my dads John Terry. There was a gang that I was scared of called the bloods ad the leader was always looking at him in the mirror. He was really vein. There was this American who left change at all his crime scenes. In the end the police dogs caught his scent They say that he who benefits from crime commits it which really means everyone in the world should have been fined when jezza punched peirs morgan. One bloke sold bread there and everyone was really jealous because he made loads of doe. He was really generous though this bloke he’d give you anything you need. There was one cell no one wanted because a vegetable had smashed the pipe and it leaked. When I got out I had a fancy dress party to celebrate and my mate came in a suit of armour. That was a night to remember. moreResolved Question: How can I film my laptop screen like the film equivalent of a screenshot?

this is my novel i have been writing. please give advice and constructive criticism. thank! x Prologue I glanced out of the window in time to witness the sun rise on the horizon. The sea sparkled through the magical mists and repeatedly clung on to the shore only to fall back again. I was the personification of that scene. I always seemed to go somewhere, only to mess things up and land right back where I started. It wasn’t the life my husband and I wanted for our kids. I wanted them to grow up and achieve their dreams. That was my only wish. I turned and crept swiftly to where my sleeping beauties were. I smiled. The bathroom mirror was especially unkind today. Dark circled appeared under my eyes. My hair was dirty and greasy. My face was the same as ever large hazel brown eyes, deep olive skin, chocolate curls and a stunning Grecian nose. You may think, from that description I was pretty, beautiful even, but you couldn’t be more wrong. Deep wrinkles were etched from her eyes with worry. My skin was dry and not looked after and my feet were cracked and dirty. The walls had damp covering them, the floor was carpet less. The only nice, new thing we owned was the only bed in the middle of the room. Yes, we only have a 3 room apartment and yes, I am married with two children, but isn’t it better to be happy than rich? No, I didn’t think so either. I didn’t have a job, so I couldn’t really complain. But Josh, he worked everyday of every week of every month just to keep our family alive. But today, the first day of 1999, I was going to get a job and I was going to look at bigger apartments and we are going to live like a proper family. We had to. I just wanted to be normal. Chapter 1 “Can Harry come to school with me today mum?” “Of course he can Stephen, just behave yourselves this time. You know what happened last time?” “Alright mum, anyway Harry’s the one that told me to anyway.” Stephen Murmured to himself. “Alright alright, just go or you’ll be late for school. Holly’s waiting for you.” I said in a strained voice. As I spoke Josh walked into the kitchen. He was all dressed up in his new suit. “What do you think?” he said cheerfully as he gave me a girly twirl. “I reckon this outfit screams out; ‘I am more than ready for this giant promotion.’” He added in a high pitch squeak. “Stop teasing me,” I laughed, “you know I’m nothing like that!” josh winked, ran at me and spun me in the air. He treated me like child, couldn’t say I didn’t like it though! “It’s your turn to make dinner tonight,” I shouted as he walked with the kids out the front door. “Thought you could get away with it?” “I would never think that.” And with a grin he left. Looking at my watch I realised I only had one hour to get ready before work. I fled upstairs to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. Those pampers do work. My skin was as soft as a baby. After half an hour I was ready. I checked myself in front of the full length mirror. My coffee curls hung loosely around my shoulders and my knee length pencil skirt was short enough to show off my smooth tanned legs. Yes, I was ready. I popped in the car and I took one last look at my house. It was stunning. The converted Elizabethan cottage stood tall and mighty above the surrounding fields. Fields that we owned. One day I would like to buy holly a horse, she would love that, and anyway what else were we supposed to do with them? * * * “Hi Cassie” “Hey Cass” “Ooh Cassandra just the person I was looking for,” “Walk with me,” I said monotonously. As we walked to the lift Jill, my secretary filled me in. “Well, Cass, one of the workers has pitched an idea about a whole new holiday range. As much as this sounds like a good idea, I’m afraid you would have to travel to st. Lucia, one of the Caribbean islands to get inspiration.” “Sounds good to me,” I smiled. A holiday in the middle of work? It couldn’t get any better. “But who would you leave in charge? I mean, hardly any of these designers are up to scratch.” “You of course,” I said as I bent down to speak to her, “you have been loyal to me all these years. You deserve it.” “Why thank you so much Cass.” She whispered joyfully. “Come round to my place at 7 tonight and I’ll fill you in on what going to happen while I’m away.” I added. I sauntered into my office and relaxed. After 5 years of hard work, I had finally got a holiday! I logged on to my computer and booked the whole thing. I was so happy, happier than I have ever been in my whole life. it's not perfect, i know. but give me ideas. thanks lots xxx i'm only in lower high school and the story is going to be about how her son gets schizophrenia and she has troubles with her marrige. moreResolved Question: what do you think of my novel so far?
i have already posted this on yahoo! and i have edited it. please give me more constructive criticism. I glanced out of the window to peruse, in time to witness the sun rise on the horizon. My face was the same as ever large hazel brown eyes, deep olive skin, chocolate curls and a stunning Grecian nose. this is the prologue to my newest piece of writing- hope you enjoy it and give me as much feedback as possible I glanced out of the window to peruse, in time to witness the sun rise on the horizon. One boy hides under bed while other watches from afar.?
We're all sitting round talking about a film that was really exciting but none of us can remember it's name or anything much apart from one scene. Two young men and one breaks into the apartment of a suspected murderer while the other one watches from a distance. The apartment owner comes home so the young guy hides under the bed. The apartment owner discovers and murders him. It is a very rear window type scene. Anyone remember it? Have just remembered a bit more about the film. We think that one of the boys was infatuated with his teacher and was spying on her. She was the one who talked him into going into the apartment of the murderer, possibly to retrieve something. Okay, we now think that we may be muddling two films and the teacher infatuation might be from another film. However, we have remembered that while the boy is hiding under the bed he sees the man open something and there is a body inside. The boy then gasps which gives his whereabouts away so he gets discovered and killed. moreResolved Question: Windows vista or windows 7?... or XP?

This has been bugging me for years! I first remember seeing it in the late 90's I think; maybe 2000? A real people film by the way; not animated or anything. It involved a mother and a daughter and I think they lived in like, this mall or department store? If I remember rightly they lived in a shop window. I think the plot was that they were homeless for whatever reason and now lived in this mall. I just remember that it was a Christmas film - and at some point near the end I remember a roof scene with some bad guys I think. Maybe people that were trying to throw them out of the mall?! Sorry for the vague details! I just remember watching it once when I was young and loved it. Ring any bells? Any one have any idea what this movie is called? :S moreResolved Question: Have i failed to stop after an accident?
Driving in Manchester at 11.30 at night some lads in a fiesta were driving crazy and i had to get away from them as i didn't think it was safe. unfortunately when turning around a corner i had really little bump with a taxi driver. I didn't think it was safe to stop where i was as it was a busy road. So i drove a little further down the road. The taxi followed me and then the fiesta pulled up in front of me and the fiesta lads and the taxi driver started to assault me my passenger and my car smashing the windows trying to drag me out kicking the car and verbal abuse. After this i decided the men were FAR to irrational to deal with so i drove of from what was going on. My question is, whats wrong and whats right here. I've reported the incident and there will most likely be CCTV of this in Manchester. Am i in the wrong for "driving off" or leaving the scene of the accident. thanks in advance. josh moreResolved Question: Windows Movie Maker, is it possible to have more than one scene at once?

how does Bill Forsyth make the behaviour of teenage boys in ‘Gregory’s Girl’ funny? ’Gregory’s Girl’ was originally a film written by Bill Forsyth in 1984. Teenage boys in the eighties were the same as they are today, People’s stereotypes of teenagers is thought of to be that they are moody, criticising and act disrespectfully to elders this is normally blamed on there hormones. The hormones of the teenagers play a big part in the film because when teenagers start to reach adolescence they notice the opposite sex and are instantly attracted trying to show off and impress this is emphasised in ‘Gregory’s Girl’ and is amusing to the audience. Today’s example that we could compare to ‘Gregory’s Girls’ is the television show ‘Vicky Pollard’ because it also makes teenagers attitudes witty. One thing that is different today than in the eighties is the fact that boys should play football and girls should cook or play hockey, but in ‘Gregory’s Girl’ it is shown in a different way because Dorothy is very skill full at football and Steve is very good at cooking, all these differences and comparisons are what make ‘Gregory’s Girls’ humorous. There are many ways Bill Forsyth makes the teenage boys in ‘Gregory’s Girl’ seem amusing, for example in scene two there are two main funny events. The first is when scene two is opened with stage directions explaining that the boys are restless and over existed this gets the audience interested because they want to know what the excitement is all about. The audience eventually see the boys in the woods spying on a young nurse through her window. This becomes funny because the teenage boys cant handle the sight and start to make a big event out of something immature, one of the boys Andy says ‘I cant breathe… I can’t see right…’ this shows that the boys can’t handle the sight of the woman undressing and also shows the excitement because it is stereotypical of teenage boys this has been emphasised to make it more humorous. Forsyth elaborates to the word ‘brassiere’ this word shows how immature the boys actually are and also proves that they don’t know what they are talking about this is comical to the audience because the boys are older and they shouldn’t be as silly as they are towards the situation. In this scene there many ellipses and pauses where the boys have become over existed they are so energized they are unable to finish there sentences ‘’oh god! Make it come off… please god, make it come off…’’ this shows the deportation of the boys, The repeated word ‘god’ makes it seem as if they are praying. The climax of the humour in the seen comes when the boy Eric Says ‘Tits!’ this shows the immaturity of the teenagers and is typical of them to say immature words. The audience find this amusing because once again they show there foolishness. The second event that occurs in scene two is when the two younger boys Richard and Melvyn come on set after the teens have left. The stage directions say that they walk on ‘nonchalantly’ they watch as the nurse gets undressed, but unlike the teenagers Richard Says’ a lot of fuss over a bit of tit, eh!’ they act more mature than the teenagers and the comparison between them is comical because stereotypically the audience assume that the older boys would act older in the situation. The stage directions for they younger boys is ‘’(They are appreciative but nonchalant, as they go off)’’ we can see that the stage directions are used by Forsyth to stress what he is trying to portray because the teenagers stage directions ‘(..They are furtive and over-excited)’’ which shows the audience how juvenile the teen boys are compared to the two younger boys. The comparison of the stage directions emphasises the attitudes of the boys to the audience and is amusing. In scene five it starts with a football trial taking place. The first stage direction is very humorous because it sets the attitude for the boys ‘(are keen but lack style)’ this is unexpected because the audience assume they are naturally good football players, but some of the boys are not fully equipped and some start to complain ’boy1: these bloody boots are too small’ ‘’boy3: why do I want to play for the worst team in the history of school…’ the boys are typically whinging and this makes the audience laugh as they recognise it as a stereotype for the teenagers. Dorothy enters the scene looking very prepared for the trial, she then approaches Phil (Football Coach) he automatically assumes she is not there for the trial, Dorothy explains that she is there for the trial and Phil seems to dread the thought of having her on the team. This links to the expectations in 1984 because girls where not meant to participate in boys sports, Forsyth has done this to add humour and show comparisons between the boys and the girls. Dorothy was fully equipped and didn’t complain unlike the boy’s attitude to the trial, when Dorothy is eventually aloud to participate in the trial Fo moreVoting Question: Can anyone help me out with the name of a movie from around 1998, 1999; I saw it around the same time Magnolia?

I have been thinking of taking up a hobby, and have narrowed it down to two (expensive) choices: Model Trains and Air soft, which do you believe I should choose. I am a fairly large (fat) and want to start exercising, and have been swimming. I enjoy history, particularly the industrialisation and world wars. I also enjoy reading, and gaming. I am also interested in firearms. So which hobby due do you think I should choose based on the nutshell of me above? If I choose Model Trains, I would probably make a scene in which it shows the British troops going off to war, with their families waving them off at the stations. A may also have a train of evacuees. The hardest part would be the people, and modelling the soldiers leaning out the window. It would be set in a British mining town, with "two up two down" house galore, and the pit being the centrepiece. For air soft, I probably would buy an assault rifle (got a few in mind), before moving on to a regular rifle (m14 probably). P.s. I am planning on buying a .22 air rifle (single shot) and and air pistol (.22 also) for self defence purposes. moreResolved Question: have you seen fenwicks window if in UK ?

i am an english yr 10 student and has just been set a piece of coursework, it is writing to describe and i have to do a christmas scene, please can you help me and read through what i have and try and improve it, thanks! p.s its not allowed to be a story!! The time of celebration, happiness and frustration. the familiar feeling in your pit of your stomach from being anxious and excited at the same time, like a million butterfly's fluttering frantically within you, a feeling so sweet it is almost sickening. the children in the room next door piratically bouncing in their beds, the springs groaning in protest. the children grinning from ear to ear, their hair stood on end and excitement rolling off them with their every breath, big purple, bruise like shadows underline their tired sleepy eyes from the lack of sleep the night before eagerly awaiting the surprises that this day holds. the surprise of waking up in the morning to a hazy light filtering through the curtains, curiosity makes the better of you and you roll out of your warm cosy bed to investigate. As your bare feet stumble to the window, cool air encircles you and leaves goose bumps on your arms, when you finally peer through the curtains your breath steams up the glass and gets stuck in your throat as you realise what was happening, a sight so rare it is seen more on a festive card then in reality,.it was snowing. a fine layer of white powder covers the top of every surface in sight stretching deep into the horizon, a sight so peaceful you couldn't help but feel calm. but this calm feeling doesn't last, the mad panic around the house that the giant pink fleshed monstrosity of a turkey won't fit in the oven, you try and try again to fit it in but to no prevail, at this stage you have almost given up and are quit flustered, but then a calm family member points out you haven't taken the grill pan out! a feeling of relief and stupidity washes over you, the fiasco being a product of waking up too early. the humidity in the kitchen rising as the pudding simmers quietly in the corner of the stove. the heady aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger mingling with sage and onion stuffing fighting for supremacy over the overwhelming odour of brussle sprouts. the constant ringing of the door bell as more and more distant relatives (that you wish were a bit more distant) arrive for their annual lunch, which you hope to never see again until this time next year. the older generation sprint towards the comfiest of chairs.aches and pains a distant memory. eagerly awaiting the handing out of the presents from under the twinkling tree. as the brightly coloured packages diminish around the room you can observe the flicker of emotions across each individual face, ranging from the youthful look of excitement to the more mature look of bewilderment from yet another pair of socks. a hushed silence fills the room as grandad announces the royal speech is about to start, shortly after it commences the silence is broken by a bellowing snore from the corner, grandad in his anticipation to the speech had relaxed and given in to the side effects from too much mulled wine and overindulgence from a heavy lunch. his party hat slid down to covered his now closed wrinkled eyes as if on purpose. much of the rest of the day slips into oblivion through endless cups of teas and mince pies until the last guest has finally departed, it is only now you are able to kick off your shoes, slouch on the sofa and watch yet another repeat of the vicar of dibley christmas special while passing around the quality street. you can relax blissfully in the knowledge that it would be another twelve months before this is repeated. moreResolved Question: Creating a Hitler spoof?
Okay, so I've seen all these scenes from Der Untergang (Downfall) on YouTube that people have added their own subtitles to. I downloaded a couple of the scenes from YouTube using Real Player (the icon to do so pops-up every time I hover over a YouTube video). However, I now need to know how to edit these clips so I can put my own subtitles to them. I tried importing them into Windows Movie Maker, but the file type isn't compatible or something. What can I do to edit the clips to get subtitles onto them ready for uploading back to YouTube? To Jim, yes that is a very fair point. I in no way condone the behaviour or the values of Hitler, the Nazi regime, white supremecism or anything of the kind. Indeed, history needs to be respected: it's the one tool we have for predicting the future. However, it is common knowledge that the majority of YouTube material is light-hearted (or just plain pointless). It could be argued that these spoofs are a way of making sure that no-one forgets the atrocities of the Nazi regime, although I'm not saying that's an argument I support. I believe however that there are times when one must sit back and explore a creative avenue when concerning history. I'd like to make it clear that it is not a Holocaust video I intended to spoof but a superbly-acted scene by Bruno Ganz in the film Der Untergang. There are already many videos ridiculing Adolf Hiter on the internet. At the end of the day, viewership is down to personal choice: if someone finds material offensive, they can choose not to watch. moreVoting Question: i am trying to find a film which had a possed porcelin doll terrorising a man in a stateley home 1990s?

The night was silent and still. The pale face of the moon gazed upon me, casting a gentle glow. Trudging through the snow, the empty city around me slept soundlessly. The wind whispered through the air, biting at my face and whipping my hair into my eyes. The picturesque meringues of untouched snow decorated the roofs of the buildings like icing on a cake. The lonely, deserted place was as silent and eerie as a ghost town. My footprints left deep holes in the thick snow and made a satisfying crunch beneath my feet. I breathed in the crisp air and blew it out in a cloud that disappeared in the breeze. As I continued to blunder through the tundra of a city, I became more and more perplexed. Where was I? I had never been about this location before, yet I was sure I had searched the city a dozen times already. I wandered towards a half buried high-rise flat, it fought its way out of the snow, to read up and kiss the night sky above. I kicked in the cracked glass on a window, it shattered and collapsed under the pressure, leaving me feel a strange, pleasurable feeling of triumph. As the snow began to drift down in fat flakes, I gingerly climbed through the window, carefully avoiding the shards of glass that still withstood my kick. Sadness flooded through me as my eyes scanned the dark, abandoned room. Discarded cobwebs and dust had claimed their place, giving it the bleak, dismal sensation. I ran my fingers across the dusty side table, observing the cracked, forgotten pictures that once were the cheerful memories of someone’s past. Tears welled in my eyes as I took in the empty cradle in the corner of the room. Dolls and stuffed toys sat on a high shelf, unloved and forgotten. I picked up the picture from the table and rubbed it clear of dust. It had captured a scene with a happy family in a park, a laughing, smiling mother, looking with eyes filled with adoration at the beautiful little baby girl she was holding in her arms. There was also a father, with a little boy on his shoulders who was shrieking with excitement at the fun. I knew who took that picture... it was the sister of those children... it was me. Wiping my eyes of the tears that continued to form, I struggled back out of the window with one last look around the room that used to be my sister’s, I looked around me for where I left off; then continued on my journey. I am thirteen years old and this is a piece of writing that will be assessed. I'm determined to get a level six or seven so could you please tell me how I can improve? This is how the story goes.... after a whole day of drinking and going to partys by midnight i had a domestic with my girlfriend where i had lashed out and punched the fish bowl and lamp i had left the room where that incident had happened and gone to the kitchen where i had grabbed a knife i cut my arm a couple times in the kitchen before leaving with the knife.. as walking down the street i had holstered the knife in my belt and had kept walking down the street with the intent to hurt myself more, as i got further down the street i had got into an argument with a older bigger man then me... the argument was wild and out of nowhere the man threw a few haymaker kicks at me.. i had than removed the knife from my belt where i would have thought he would have stopped the attack but no another kick came toward me an i had lunged forward at cut him in the forehead where blood oozed out quite severe looking... i took a couple steps back, the guy seemed to be alright but still wanting to fight, i figured if i kept this up im going to kill this guy.... i told him i didnt want to hurt him further so i walked away from the scene... he followed me till i got to my house where friends and my gf were living and had walked inside... the man then walked up the driveway throwing outdoor items at the house, also bottles thru the window.. i felt like going out and ending his life but i tryed my best to stay inside.. by 5 mins of so of listening to this guy screaming theats and yelling a few of my friends turn up to my house where they see this older man he looks like 30 or so... yelling and screaming and bleeding cause one of my friends is a nutter he came and seen if we where alright while telling that man to stay there... he than took a golf club and chased the man from the property and had hit the man round the legs with the golf club.. the golf club snapped in half so he threw the leftover peices of the golf club at his as he ran down the road.... police turn up 10 mins later... and round us all up for statements.... the man was discharged from hospital 1-2 days after the incident, police say the cut was not too serious but bleed alot.. he told me i was lucky i didnt hit him in the torso.. the knife used was quite large its like 20 cm or maybe abit less has jagged blade for like cutting bread but a sharp tip. i have been charged for wounding with intent to Greviuos Bodily Harm.. wat do you think will happen to me... how can i make this look better on my defence.. the only thing wrong i that i have a previous incident with a knife where noone was hurt another drunken episode.. that happened a couple years ago.. i went to prison for that incident. Jackie Chan has to underwrite all his own films, no insurance company will touch him or his stars because he is that much of a liability. We all know his famous out-takes like police story 2 where he misstimes the jump of the top of the tram before the special effects team set off the charges in the window pane, they set the charge off as he's smashing through a pane of sugar glass, that hurt him big time. But you should see the man choreograph a fight scene, he takes no crap at all, he wears body protection normally motorbike armour under his clothes so when the kicks connect its for real. So before the camers roll they go through the whole sequence that he's trained them for a month. Once the cameras roll and he gets a misstimed punch he's not a happy bunny. I can't blame the fella, he caught a kick to the face from a 6th dan european karate champion. He bit the balls of him, when it comes to fight sequences he takes no prisoners. Would he be more concerned for the other actors making sure they're safe? Vortex: you tube chackie chan stunt man, a film he made back in 93/95 where hes on a roof top fighting this tall fella, the fella throws kicks galore at him when Jackie isn't ready so he stops the cameras and rips his balls off, i don't mean phyiscally rips his balls off but he gives him a severe dressing down. Vortex, i'lll give you the link. hold on a sec. Vortex: heres the link as close to the thing which i mentioned. 52 seconds in the tall fella he fights, in the unreleased outake he's the one he rips apart and i don't blame him for doing it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGRiW2BOI88&feature=related This is the scene where he fights the fella i'm talking about, apparaently its twaekondo not karate, its only the spinning back kicks that give it away as twaekondo. Anyway its not slowed down its 24 frames a second as seen, what you don't see is Jackie give him a bollocking. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4esm-SBbwE&NR=1 moreResolved Question: some feedback on opening scene please?
this is a repost. i know i need to work on the sentence structure and grammar, but i'd like to see what you think of it so far. Do you have any suggestions of what should happen next. Do you think its boring? i think it is a bit, but that could be because ive read over it so many times! thank you: Damn! There goes my last cigarette. I extricate the remains of my tobacco filled punching bag from my back pocket that I just sat on. I lift it to eye level, delicately, like from my brief stint as a violinist, so as not to spill the contents. I am pleased to see that it’s a clean break. They’re always better. Cigarette-wise, anyway. Apparently they heal more effectively, but I think that phase was coined by some cowardly boyfriend before going MIA on his unsuspecting girlfriend. I proceed with the “broken cigarette protocol” that is: 1. Empty the butt-half of any tobacco remaining 2. Affix the tip of the cigarette into the empty cylinder that is now the butt of the smoke I learned this during my 3 weeks at some public school last year. Only thing I learned there. Along with how to smoke a cigarette. And ,how to run really fast in response to being chased by girls with trolley bars. Well, I guess that saves me the trouble of explaining why I only lasted there for 3 weeks. “Ask me a question”, Florida says from the back seat. I jump at her voice. Had she not spoken, I would have believed that I was alone. Again. I briefly glance to the back. She’s sprawled across the entire back seat with her legs crossed and resting on the ceiling. The shoelaces of her converses are untied, and she’ll probably forget this fact when she gets up to walk. I make a mental note to remind her to tie them later. She’s looking a me expectantly. I sigh. “Do you think you’ll get back with him?”I ask, gazing out of the rain streaked window. I know this is what she wants me to ask, so I do automatically. My friend Flo. I don’t remember ever meeting her. She was just always there, musing about the meaning of life and giving significance to insignificant events, in hopes of making them significant. I take sip of diet coke, although I really feel like water, but can’t motivate myself to get out of the car to go and buy it. “Uhh”, she stretches her arms out before her, getting comfortable. “Yes and no,” Flo begins. “I think we have a chance If he gets his act together and,” she continues, but I’m not really paying attention. Listening to friends complain about their relationships is in my contract, as is being sympathetic to their petty arguments and offering advice that is going to be ignored. I do try, but I can’t help but think that couples over-complicate things on purpose. The drama it creates grants their otherwise boring relationship a third dimension. She’s there, and so is he. There is no reason in the world why they can’t be together. I just find it hard to be sympathetic, given my own circumstances. As if to highlight my pain, an adoring couple walk past. How I yearn to take a snap shot, preserving this combustible speck. If not in reality, then at least on a small square piece of glossy paper. uhh thanks for the feedback. but i already mentioned my need to to fix the grammar and sentence structure. PLEASE HELP ME FELLOW AUTHORS!!!!?
The characters are teenagers (15-17 range) and they do have sex. The boy is outgoing, funny, smart, and a perfect gentleman, but can't really contain himself around the ones he loves. He protects those close to him. The girl (main character) is kind of shy, but feels like she can be herslef around him, which is still a little shy, but goofy, funny, romantic (not toward him of course). I need some help writing a few scenes! I need: a love confession, first kiss scene, sex scene, and a death scene (the boy dies) I also need a few small cute romance scenes and romantic quotes (ex. what light through yonder window breaks, It is the east and Juliet is the sun) Anyway, I'm having hardcore headaches from writers block, so help me please... ASLO!! Will you click the interest button so I'll get more answers please? thanks! No, you're not writing my story for me, I'm adding in the storyline I just need a little help with the major features No, he doesn't commit suicide, and no she doesn't kill him... it has to be tragic! by hardcore I mean so romantic you'll faint William Shakespear killed off ALL THREE of his main characters and everyone knows Romeo and Juliet! moreVoting Question: can i get photoshop on my laptop?

Hi there. I would like to make a youtube video by choosing scenes from some TV shows I have downloaded. The problem I am having is transferring my downloaded videos to Windows movie maker. Whenever I try and choose a Tv episode using the import media task, a message comes up on my screen saying Windows movie maker has stopped working and when checking for a solution, it goes on about some Data Execution Prevention. I have figured out how to make clips using pictures and music, but what I really want to do is make a film with moving scenes from some of the episodes I downloaded. My downloads are in Avi format. Any help would be much appreciated. Thankyou. moreResolved Question: Does the song from The Lion King "Hakuna Matata" have innuendo in it?
You know Disney; the "Good teenagers take off their clothes" in Aladdin, the Rescue Rangers sex scene (through a fleetingly seen window), the penis in the poster for The Little Mermaid... The Lion King already has the most blatant one with the stardust spelling out "SEX" in the sky! But is this more innuendo I spy in Hakuna Matata? The lyrics are: "I'm a sensitive soul though I seem thick-skinned, And it hurt that my friends never stood downwind And oh, the shame..." "He was ashamed" "Thought of changin' my name..." "What's in a name?" "And I got downhearted..." "How did ya feel?" "Everytime that I..." "Pumbaa, not in front of the kids!" The most obvious thing I can think of which fits in with the rhyming scheme and merits that reaction is that he says: "Oh the shame, Thought of changing my name; And I got downhearted Every time that I came..." Sure, downhearted rhymes with farted but it's written in a kind of Limerick style... What do you think? Kids fart too! Why shouldn't he say that in front of them? :S Thank you for your input Mr Bateman (do I spy a psycho?), that's very insightful. There does seem to be very poignant connection between the "predatory", calculated approach that Scar takes to adversity and Hitler's totalitarian attitude... :D moreResolved Question: Am I the only one who thinks that "Pride and Prejudice" is a mediocre and exceedingly boring book?
I almost threw it out of the window before even getting to half of vol. 1, but eventually I read all the 3 volumes. I had no problem with the language, which is not contemporary English of course, but it's quite easy. The real problem is that Miss Austen doesn't know when to stop. What made me furious were the neverending dialogues that kept repeating the same concepts over and over without contributing anything new or interesting . I say : once a concept has been fully developed in a dialogue or scene, stop. Stop, for heaven's sake !. Don't go on as if you are desperate for money and the publisher is paying you by the number of pages. If you are a very gifted writer you may go on for many pages on the same subject in an intriguing manner, but evidently that's not the case of Miss Austen who simply repeats the same things in a dull and lifeless manner. Those interminable dialogues also lack any subtlety.. It's almost as if they were not dialogues but essays on the subject "Pride and prejudice". Nice subject, I admit, but unfortunately very little of its potential is explored in this book. What we have here is rigid and stale like an academic work. The plot is interesting but it's drowned in an ocean of triviality. Most of the book reminds me of the final line from the 1932 movie "Grand Hotel" with Greta Garbo: "People come. People go. Nothing ever happens". Thank God Wickham and Lydia eloped ! At least something happens. In spite of that and of the other more vivacious moments in vol. 3, everything is always marred by a general stiffness, and unbearable verbosity. The book has its moments and merits, but they are extremely diluted . If all the irrelevant dialogues and scenes had been omitted, we'd have a much more interesting and pleasant novel, albeit much shorter. @D S : I liked the first chapters very much, but unfortunately the rest of the book is quite different. I hoped it would go back to the freshness of the beginning, but in vain. Instead it got duller and duller. How can a human being endure the dullness of the chapters where Jane got sick ? I almost shot myself @Biedronka: I assure you that the novel is divided into 3 Volumes (or "parts" if you prefer, but the author chose the term "volume" ). Since they are quite short they are sold as one single book. Do not mistake me for a fan of action books because I'm not and I don't even like action movies. One of my favourite books is Virginia Wolfe's "To the lighthouse" where there's hardly any action at all. A great author could write about the weather for many chapters without being repetitive and boring. "Pride and prejudice " is about things much more varied than the weather and yet it appears to me as extremely repetitive and boring. Of course it's Virginia Woolf, not Wolfe. I'm still mad at Miss Austen and I need time to regain my mental balance... Dear DS: the first chapters (which I liked) are quite short and it takes just 10 pages to get to chap. 5. Volume 1 is about 100 pages. I had no problem with the first 10 pages or so, but it was really hard to get to page 50 and beyond. Perhaps what I should have said is that I'm not as much furious with Miss Austen as with those who regard her book as a classic masterpiece. My edition has a preface of 30 pages and two appendixes. What a waste of paper. It's not Shakespeare, you know. Had it not been for the hype about this book (I remember the title since I was a child) I wouldn't have decided to read it. I understand it could have been a very popular book in early 19th century. The reason of its popularity in our times escapes me. Don't worry, I decided not to shoot myself. Jerome K. Jerome and his two friends on a boat, saved me by means of concise and witty dialogues and descriptions. It may not be a work of art, but how refreshing ! moreResolved Question: What do you think?(death scene)?
Amy swung her legs over the side of the bike and jumped off running towards her friend, the bike crashing into a car,"Wha-"She began, something flew down and hit the ground with such amazing force all the windows in nearby cars shattered and the floor around it cracked as it sliced through the tarmac. She stood there silently, watching the spot where the object fell, she wandered over catiously and saw it was a sword..it was crackling with a fiery blue energy. She walked slowly towards it and stopped,a voice in her head telling her it wasn't safe, she ignored it and grabbed the hilt. ^That's the scene before the one you're about to read.^ Amy was engulfed by the blue energy,it rippled through her core and she fell to the floor.."Lee!Call an ambulance!"One of the girls shouted,Lee,the boy who had called Amy,ran over to her and held her.."Amy..Amy!"He whispered, people were crowding round them..they weren't ordinary people,"We have come for the girl."Lee pulled his phone out and called the ambulance, they were on their way,"You're not getting her, she's staying with me-"He was cut off as the people shot him, twice in his forehead,he fell to his side. Amy laid there motionless, her eyes open and she screamed inside..she could see everything.. from the gun to the blood that spattered her coat. The people tore the blade from her hands as she laid there, she couldn't struggle..they disappeared the way they came, unseen, the ambulance arrived..she saw them flash the light in her eyes and feel them feel for a pulse, she just couldn't..move.A tear rolled down her cheek and down onto the tarmac, why hadn't she listened to that voice in her head? Is that okay? From that piece of my book would you read it? Or even buy it? Is it good for a fourteen year old? Needs a lot of editing though.
